I’m not far enough in the game to be able to move buildings yet, but I saw a concerning Reddit post saying that their second character (non-Island rep) was unable to move their house.

Does anyone with multiple characters who has unlocked moving buildings know if you can move other player houses or not? Either by the island rep or home owner?

I have 5 characters and will probably need to delete most of them if I can’t move their houses. :(

The Island Rep may be able to move their houses for them.

The reddit post I saw said they couldn’t though...

Unless there’s a certain bit of story progression until the non-rep is allowed to move their house. And the person that said they couldn’t move their house just hasn’t progressed far enough?

Just saw another post saying you can’t. Is anyone else able to verify this? I’d like to delete my other characters sooner rather than later as I don’t want to progress too far with them if I need to delete them. :(

May I ask how far you are into the game with your other characters? ie; are they passed the tent stage, already have diy and stuff like that?

wait, i just read that you aren't far enough in the game to move buildings yet- oops

Anyway, from what I found, I can't move my second character's house since its still in the tent phase and I haven't payed off my "moving-in" debt. However, I have not found any evidence online suggesting that you CANT move these characters houses.

That's what I was thinking.

That would be a good explanation.

I've unlocked the Town Hall today, and would be happy to confirm who gets to move what when I get off work. I looked at it when I first work up and I did see that the option to move my own house is separated from villagers' homes, and other buildings. To move your own home, you have to ask Nook "About my home", which all islanders have the option. Though until now, that option was reserved for expansion and remodeling.

Sounds good! Hopefully the person who said they couldn't just misunderstood or were looking in the wrong menu.

The option to move other villagers is there but not other characters.

If you want to move another character's house, you need to be on that character's profile and talk to Nook as them

Yes, you absolutely can relocate non-Island Rep Homes. I created a new player yesterday and verified it this morning

Please note as I suspected before, only that player may move their home.
