I'm new to this forum. I like collecting pretty things and I'm trying to decide if I should get into this?

I see a limited number in the shop, but I can also see that they can be gifted.

Who makes them? How often do new ones come out? What determines their value? Any other info I might find useful?

If someone could please explain, I would really appreciate it!

Who makes them?

TBT staff releases new collectibles periodically. Most are tied to a specific event (e.g. Christmas event, Halloween event, Easter, TBT Fair, the latter of which is basically a series of various competitive and non-competitive events for event-specific currency that can be exchanged for collectibles among other things.)

How often do new ones come out?
It depends. Right now, no new collectibles have come out, in part because the staff has been busy with the transition to TBT 3.0. They have, however, announced another TBT Fair, which may or may not come with the release of new collectibles. (Among other things, feathers, arcade collectibles, a subset of the balloon collectibles, and the pinwheels are tied to the fair.)

What determines their value?
It's a combination of rarity and demand. There's no real one-size-fits all rule. For example, there are less than two dozen Rad Feathers in existence, but they go for less than White Feathers, of which there are about 80. Egg prices have recently been on the rise, in part due to the fact that there hasn't been an Easter event this year.

Any other info I might find useful?
The collectible tier list might be helpful, in addition to the list of all released collectibles.

If you want to buy any common that's currently in stock, you're better off looking for someone that wants to sell them, you can get them cheaper.
