Can You Trip While Walking?

So this might be a silly question, but I was wondering if I'm holding a balloon and walking, I won't trip will I? I don't wanna lose my balloons so I'm hoping I can just walk if I wanna hold them!

I think that if you wear the King Tut mask you trip a LOT. I don't know about otherwise! I just saw the King Tut thing in a Mayor Mori (AC Youtuber) video lol.

Yah, I've heard about tripping while wearing the mask, and while holding balloons, but I have yet to hear about anyone tripping without either.

The mask confused me at first, but then I realized... I can't imagine you can see very well with it on

...Increased chance of catching garbage? That would actually be super useful for crafting
(also, I'm low-key loving that it's apparently "cursed" )

And it is kind of a cute detail. I mean, it's a bit annoying, but I don't mind it. But I think Nintendo mainly just didn't want balloons to be "permanent", but also couldn't quite make them limited-use like bubbles.
Though... now that I think about it... to get more balloons you'd need to buy raffle tickets from Redd. So tripping is pretty convenient for him. Now, I'm not saying he's somehow causing it but... I'm just saying he seems like he's the type who would.

Well that makes it sort of useful when you need to farm things like tires for a lunar rover

That's been a feature since Animal Crossing Wild World. If you saw Katrina and got a bad fortune, you'd be tripping afterward.
