Ripped from let's go to the Wiki._________________________________________________Hypothesis: Changing the color of your roof increases the chance of getting a hybrid of the same color.

It sounds crazy, I know, but after hearing a couple of other people say it had worked, I tried it myself. I changed my roof color to light blue because despite growing dozens of hybrids, I had never been able to get a blue pansy. Two days later, success--my first blue pansy.

Of course, even with my success it seems kind of crazy. Thus, this thread--has any one else ever noticed this effect? Would anyone be willing to try it?

There are really two questions here--does it work? and if it does, how long does the effect last?

I've always had a purple roof and purple tulips are one of my least occurring hybrids, I've only got 3. Also, I've got on the order of 15 pink cosmos, 15 orange cosmos, 15 orange pansies, and 10 pink tulips. I do have a lot of purple roses but maybe only 8. I only just got 3 pink roses in the last week.

It'd be interesting if it works, but my lack of purple is annoying. I guess I could try the black roof, I could use some more black tulips and cosmos.

They say it's when you CHANGE your roof, not what it currently is.
Hmm.. well I'm changing it to light blue just for fun. Can't hurt one way or the other. How long does it take for the roof change to happen? I've only ever changed colors at house upgrade time.

I believe it takes a day.

You know, that's a weird hypothesis. We have 4 players in my town, each with a different color. I do remember, though, shortly after painting my roof black I got a black tulip and a black rose on the same day. But with all the different color roofs going on in our town, I don't know how one could gauge the effects, or if they would all just cancel each other out.

Well my roof was light blue today, and I got no new hybrids at all. In fact, half of my blue hybrids were wilting! I'll give it a few more days to see what happens. At least this is something else I can try, I didn't really feel like changing my roof color before, but now I have something to look for!

I though someone said it was two days...
