i have such bad luck with celeste coming and meteor showers in general, but i really wanna use some of those items for my island theme...and im sure theyre fairly expensive to buy on here, so like, would there be any tips for me to like, be able to get a hold of some of her items?

Figure out your weather seed, if you can, so you know when Celeste will show up, and you can get the star fragments to craft her items. Using a heavy meteor shower and tracking your exact times for shooting stars, down to the second, is best for this.
Otherwise, check the airport subforum for people who currently have a meteor shower going on, or who have Celeste visiting.

Keep an eye on the airport forum, people will report celeste on their island and of it's open for visitors.
If you find your weather seed (aka pattern) you'll know exactly when you'll have a meteor shower so you can check for Celeste. You can have multiple showers in one week but Celeste will only show up during one of them per week.

Also if you have more than one playable character each can get a recipe from her in one night and they won't necessarily be the same.

I also have bad luck with meteor showers. On my island I started last April I've had only two so far. Like others said, finding your weather seed is a good idea. Unfortunately I haven't been able to find mine as of yet so I'm not sure if it will work for you either. My advice is to monitor the airport forum for Celeste visits but also see if you could join a few Discords or facebook groups. There are usually folks out there who are willing to host for Celeste, sometimes free and sometimes for a fee.

echoing what everyone else has said! finding your weather seed seems daunting but it's fairly easy depending on how you go about it. and yeah, quite often people post in the airport when they have a meteor shower/celeste over!
Can someone explain how it works when you visit another island while Celeste is there - will she always give you a recipe you don't have, or since it's a different island, is it possible the recipe she is giving that night might be one you have?
She'll always give you one you don't have until you have them all, then she'll give you fragments. The exception is Zodiac recipes...you only get one a month, even if you collect the one for January on a Monday, then on Tuesday, you visit Celeste on an island that's in June.

While I do advocate people find their weather seeds, I don't think it's needed in this case. Though it does help, especially if you're using TT to look.
I think Celeste will show up once every 2 weeks starting around 7:00pm. So you just need to actively be looking for her, much like Wisp.
