Changes to obtaining photos?

Has anyone else noticed that villagers can now send you clothing and ect in the mail even with full pockets?
Does that mean I should just give them a Giant Clam straight up instead of waiting for the next day?

Yes i think it was updated. Anyway, I’ve never seen the benefit of this method. It’s too bothersome to have to set it up with your pockets full and then wait the next day for a bit of an improved chance to get the photos. I’ve been doing it the regular way and have never had any trouble getting photos.

That's fair. I just have bad luck getting them. I'm best friends with everyone, but I'm missing Genji's, Merengue's, and Muffy's.
Idk how I've seen people saying they've gotten 100+ photos X_X

Same though, I've been playing since launch and haven't gotten a single one.

I give 3 wrapped pumpkins every day and I get photo's I feel quite a bit. Once I get a photo I will kick them out for a camper so I can't say how it goes long term giving pumpkins, but it usually takes 2-3 weeks I feel to get a photo. I just got Genji. I'll see how difficult they are for the photo now I guess

No, the datamined info does say that nothing has changed with the mechanics behind getting a villager photo and what gifts they give you in v2.0. So the stack trick with a giant clam will still work.

On one of my other accounts, as a test of sorts, I just gift Judy a single apple - no wrap. It's been about 5 months, and still no photo from her, even though we're best friends now and she does gift that character furniture (or clothing) back every time.

I don't keep track, but I think I usually get clothing. I sometimes do get furniture.

Yeah having bad luck definitely makes it harder. Those people have probably been time traveling to rush getting the photos or bought some of their photos. I’ve only got around 50 photos and that already includes time traveling when I was trying to move some villagers out

I noticed that although they stopped giving me photos for a single fruit, they have been giving me photos more readily for everything else above 750 bells. Tbh I don't even know what to do with the duplicates. I feel bad about selling them at the store but my wall is already covered with a photo of each villager I've had.

My luck with gold nuggets on the other hand...

weren’t they always able to send you something other than their photo when doing the stack trick, though? i mean, i personally haven’t done the stack trick in months, but i always got furniture and clothes more often than photos lol. i think it still all boils down to luck no matter what you give them or what method you use.

I've been spamming frosted cookies and desserts in wrapping paper quite succesfully lol, Merengue now owns a full-time bakery hahaha. Gotten several pics with wrapped treats : )

Ik with HHP DLC you can always change their house, but do wrapped treats end up on display, or is it like fruit where it's safe to give and not affect their homes?

They do display them if that's a bother definitely don't recommend it :' ) on a good note when you unlock changing their homes it shouldn't be an issue regardless^^
