Changing villagers into Gracie shirts?

Hey everyone! I hope it's okay for me to ask this question here. Please let me know if I'm doing something incorrect as I'm still new to this forum.

I recently bought Zucker from a user on Bell Tree Forums. He sadly wasn't wearing his Flan shirt anymore. I thought, no big... I'll just send him some and he'll change back.

SEVEN FLAN TANKS INTO THE VOID LATER?? And this little octopus will not put that damn shirt on. He's starting to cost me a great deal of bells, now. He'll only display it in his house. I've never had a villager shirt change take this long before.

Has anyone successfully gotten Zucker back into his flan shirt? Is there something about Gracie shirts that makes this work differently? When I walk around them with an inventory full of flan shirts, for example, nobody ever pings me to ask for them...

I made Whitney and Pierce wear both Gracie shirts! Whitney took 2 shirts and Pierce only one! But I wanted to put Fang and Elvis some regular clothing and it took me like 10 shirts each... :/ I think it's random...

How are you sending them? One at a time?

I've spammed Pierce's mailbox with 5 of Gracie's leather vest in one day and he was wearing it the next. I'm sure a lot of it is random factored though? Maybe someone else will know.

Good luck! Hope you can get it back on him, for the most part I don't care what my villagers wear but the themed ones look better in their original outfits, in my opinion.

UGH. WHITNEY IS THE WORST AT THIS. SHE NEVER TOOK ANY OF MY SHIRTS AND BARELY ANY OF MY GIFTS.
I just never clicked with her, no matter how much I wanted to. I was glad to see her go.

But anyways, I can never get Agnes to wear any gracie shirts, I had rolf wear one but he changed super fast.

i've learned some villagers just dont wear what you give them!

I finally got Zucker to change into a... more acceptable shirt, but he stiff refuses to wear Flan Tanks!
I'll just keep trying. :) Thanks for the info and encouragement!

Weird, my villagers change into Gracie shirts quite quick, possible because I have high friendship with 7/10 of them?

I've found that when you first start sending them a shirt, only send 1 and wrap it. This increases your chance of them wearing it.

If that doesn't work, you can try sending a 2nd wrapped shirt or just spam them with shirts 2 at a time. And then I continue spamming 2 at a time until they wear it. Some villagers wear a shirt on the first try, while others take foreverrr. I think it's just random- I haven't noticed a pattern.

I never thought of gift wrapping the shirts. Thank you very much for the tip!
I hate how sending them shirts messes up their house furniture situation so much. ;__;

I got Eugene back into his pleather vest on the first try sending it to him, so yes, it is doable!

Hmm, I remember trying to get Merengue into a pink tank, and tried 3-4 times, then gave up. I just assumed it couldn't be done because no on ever pings for a Gracie shirt you're carrying around. Mailing them can get annoying, and like you said, it messes up their house furniture. I know really well how to change their clothes to regular clothes though (without mailing it)...it involves a lot of resetting and takes a lot of time of walking around them trying to get them to ping. Also annoying, but it works. They still put the old shirt they change out of in their houses though, and you have to go through the process of removing them from the house if that bothers you.

Based on what others are saying though, it seems it's pretty random and luck based. I don't think there's really a trick to it. He would look really cute in the flan tank though, I really hope you have better luck soon. Maybe if someone else wears it, he might also switch into it? They do that too, and it usually drives me CRAZY, but maybe you'll get lucky and it'll work out. I wish I could give you a better tip. :c

That's some pretty good advise! I'll have to try that with my villagers too.

I mailed Chadder 10 24-hour Shop uniforms, and he put one on and put another in his house, which I easily replaced. He would periodically give other villagers the shirt, as well. (Samson and Penelope in particular, when I saw them with the 7-eleven shirt, I just reset)

Glad I found this. I actually stopped sending shirts because they always placed it in their house like furniture. I'll give it another try.
