Chatting with NPCs

I was in the Nook shop today and I was chatting with Lucky when I realized that I wanted to do the same with Timmy and Tommy. Does anyone else wish that we could chat with the NPCs outside of asking to sell or for fossil assessments? I want to know what they’re up to! Even if it’s just a couple of rotated lines, I feel like it would flesh out the game a little to be able to ask how the NPCs are.

I do kind of. It seems weird to think that the only thing they do is stay in the shop all day. I wouldnt even mind seeing them streching their legs every once in a while.

i do! in previous games, certain npcs would sometimes tell you a bit about their past (the able sisters still do this, to some extent) and i’d love for that to be a thing again! i’d also love to see them occasionally walk around the island, too. however, the one thing that i’m really hoping for is the option to celebrate their birthdays with them; if i recall correctly, every npc has a birthday but they’re never mentioned in-game nor do we have the option to celebrate it, which is sad

I liked being able to chat with NPC's in The Roost in NL.

I love Phyllis and really miss being able to talk to her and the other missing post office staff.

I never both to send mail in this game as the inspiration was killed by the removal of the post office.

I would love this! It makes me sad that I can't ask how they are and idk what they're up to, they're very robotic in that sense??

yeah If I remember correctly Wild World had the best NPC interaction along with the best villager interaction? It even had a whole trading event that could land you with pictures of several NPCs
Though City Folk did well with the 3 able sisters and the new NPCs, I thoroughly enjoyed that as well

I would love to be able to talk to them and give some of them gifts. Like, Sable gives wonderful patterns and we can't give her a thank you present? Also, I wish Sable would have a day off once in awhile. Ditto for Mabel. Label should come and give them a day off once in awhile.

I would absolutely love to talk to the NPCs!! It would be nice if we could become friends with them and even have a chance of getting their picture just like all the other villagers.

That would be nice. could Give Timmy and Tommy a thing to put up, like in Re-Tail.

I've always just wanted to chat with Orville, but I wish you could with all NPCs. I don't even talk to Label anymore when she comes to town. At least with a chat option all NPCs would be more interesting.

I wish they all had houses like above their shops, and maybe a day off of work each where we could see then doing normal villager things. And we could gift them stuff for their houses or clothes to wear. Imagine going into resident services and seeing Isabelle wearing a sweater you gave her. That'd be sweet.

I’d love to see Isabelle outside of RS. The place never even closes. She talks about watching tv, but I don’t know when she can.

You can kinda chat with Celeste. Carry some zodiac fragments the next time you talk to her.

I would love to be able to chat with NPCs! It was really lovely chatting with Sable before eventually earning access to the online pattern sharing thing. I wish they would implement that with other NPCs as well. I would also love if NPCs would wander around when their shops are closed! I think it would be so nice to see them wandering about, and please let Isabelle stand outside during holidays again! I loved when she’d be in the plaza for a holiday in New Leaf

I forgot Phyllis! She was so fun! And seeing pete travel around your island was nice because you could always have a nice little chat. And the roost was always fun to walk in and see an NPC sitting there. I just wanna talk to them outside of asking for a service lol! It makes me feel like they’re not as real as the villagers (who have their own problems with dialogue lol)

I'd love to see the nooklings or able sisters walking around outside after-hours so we could talk to them or see them interact with the island and villagers. And it's kind of sad that there isn't really any need to talk to tom nook or isabelle after getting the island to five stars and finishing all the house upgrades and construction - though I guess we get some one sided dialogue with isabelle every morning haha.

I'd love to be able to talk to some of the NPCs. I read that apparently there was a feature in WW and CF where occasionally certain NPCs would have special dialogue and you'd sort of find out their life stories and how they feel about the other NPC characters. It'd be nice to see that come back.

Awww I would love that! Talking to Kicks or Gulliver about their many travels or random retail horror stories from Timmy and Tommy sounds interesting!

Yes, it would be so adorable if they stayed in RVs on the island and we could visit them away from their usual gig and see them in their own environment
