Hi c:
I decided I'd finally make a thread for my crochet projects/work and stuff! :3

If you want to discuss crochet with our fellow forum members, you shall find the thread here!

My first ever project was a little teensy scarf that looked bad. I wonder if I still have pictures..

Oh! I do :3

That was about 2020-ish? It was my first time working with two colors in one project, and ALSO my very first project in general!

I had made a few scarves after this one, but immediately got discouraged since I didn't see any improvements in my work.. BUT!

I went from that... to this.. in about 4 years when I decided to pick it up again!

My stitchwork has definitely gotten neater, I'd say! I'm a very slow worker though, so this blankie took me about a year and a half to complete >_>
It's also not very big.. but my person LOVES it!! So, I suppose that's all that matters in the end!

I also have a to-do list of things I'd like to create!
I will be posting links to patterns and such for anyone else who'd like to try making some of the stuff I'm planning on making!

Mimi's To-Do List

Scarf for @Azzy - Not yet started
ʚ Kitty beanie for @Dunquixote - Not yet started
ʚ Blanket for @nyx~ - Not yet started
ʚ Inosuke Plushie - Not yet started
ʚ Moose Snuggler Plushie - Not yet started

There are many other things I'd love to make... but for now, these are my current to-do projects! ^_^

Looks like you decided to make a thread like I did! Everything looks great. :D I can't wait to see you work on the toast pouch!
And where did you get that progress bar thing from? It looks pretty cool 👀

I have to start crocheting the cape, but I will give more updates and post more pictures here once everything is complete!

Those look great Mimi; they all look really cozy too! 🤩 The colors you picked really look fantastic too! :D I can’t wait to see more of your projects! They really are lovely :D. I’m glad you made a thread to share them since I’ve been curious about them for awhile, but didn’t want to pressure you into sharing pictures 🙂. I bet the Inosuke plushie will be adorable! Just want to tell you that you got this! (and thank you for thinking of me and my kitties 🥺; no pressure at all. the thought itself is enough 🫂💜💜)

While I waited for my yellow yarn to come in the mail so I could finish Riley's commission...
I decided I'd tackle the bread pouch! I did this last night. It took me about 1-2 hours at most.
I did have to reach out to the pattern creator though, as I was having trouble with R13. She explained to me that Row 13 starts on the SIDES, not the row of stitches itself.
So... after multiple attempts. I did it!

It may not be my best sewing work (excuse his derpy mouth), but it was my first time using little eyes (typically seen in amigurumi)! I also made a strap and a loophole for the strap to go through. :lemon:

Next up.. finishing Riley's commission! ^_^

I think it looks adorable 🥺. -sends you more confidence boosters 🫂💜💜- I don’t know anything about crochet but to me all of what you showed me looks so good and amazing 🙂.

Back with another post.. but no completed projects to upload here just yet ><

I want to try making the Cream-Puff plushie that Lemon made for Mash, in MASHLE! I found a pattern on Etsy available to purchase, so.. really excited to try that out c:
In other news, I got a Michaels gift-card for Christmas. Spent it on 2 skeins of Loops and Threads yarn! Specifically Sweet Snuggles Lite Blossom, in the color Dahlia, I believe! I couldn't pass up on the pink xD Although I was torn between that color, and the Daisy color.. aaaugh.. Not sure what I'm going to make with those skeins yet, though. Any ideas or suggestions are recommended xD
It's a Bulky (6) weight yarn, just for the record!

I know I haven't had any updates here in a long while. I'm sorry for that T^T I haven't felt inspired, and as a matter of fact.. I've felt extremely discouraged with my work ;w;
BUT! I want to try and get better with this craft. That is my resolution for this year! No matter what it takes, and no matter how impatient I get c:

Hi! I love the blankie so much! And the other stuff as well!

I also like crocheting, I haven’t done it in a while but i’m planning to pick it up again!

I love crocheting amigurumis, for example I crocheted Lilly and Merengue from animal crossing about a year ago!
And I’m planning to crochet them again and make “a better version”

Absolutely adorable!

Thinking about my next project to kick off the new year...

I think I want to make a Bucky Bear, based off the Marvel Comics !
Bucky means a great huge deal to me, so.. auuhhh.. I just need to get the materials and purchase the pattern off of Etsy, lol.
I've never made a plushie before, but with the power of THE LOVE I HAVE for BUCKY... 😋
I think I can manage just fine!

There's so much I want to make but I just can't pick up that crochet hook and get to work. Auhgh.....
Although.. I think I'll try to practice a little tonight! Hopefully I will have something to show for it xD

I got a Miffy Woobles kit several months ago, maybe I'll finish that and post pictures! I'm having trouble with her ears, though.. ugh.
I think her head looks amazing though! It's the perfect size, and my friend kept complimenting me on how 'uniform' my stitches looked.

This is probably not the right thread to ask... but what is the difference between crocheting and knitting?

I am asking because I actually want to learn one or both. I just don't know where to start!

Hi Shawn! ^_^ I'd be happy to answer your question for you c:
Despite me not knowing how to knit whatsoever; from my basic understanding of both crafts.. I think the first difference is the tool that is utilized. Crochet uses one crochet hook (or, 'hooked' needles), meanwhile knitting requires two (or more) knitting needles. Needles that do not have a 'hook' on them. Sometimes with knitting, the needles are connected by a wire/string. With crochet, it's... oh man. I'm gonna need visuals xD

Photo-1-Choosing-Needles-scaled.jpg

what-crochet-hook-to-use-with-what-yarn-11.jpg

Hopefully this isn't too confusing for you! Anyway..

When I first got into needle crafts/work, I told myself I could never knit. Because when I first started researching, I always thought knitting needed both hands. I have nerve damage in my non-dominant hand, so I knew it would be super hard! T^T From the looks of it, knitting seems to require the use of both hands, lol. Meanwhile, with crocheting, you only need one hand! I really do enjoy crochet over knitting. Although, I'd love to learn to knit for real one day!

If you'd like to join the forums Crocheting thread that I made, there's a ton of good pointers and tips for beginners there! I hope this helps you! Or,,, rather, I hope I made enough sense to help you decide which path you'd like to take! ^_^

That's totally helps! Especially with the visual of the tools! Crotchet is what I was looking for! I honestly thought it was the same tools, but maybe just a different technique.

I have seen a few people in my life crocheting with the hook tool, including one person who absentmindedly made scarves, and hats and such, while watching a movie! I am not trying to be THAT proficient, but it sure would be fun to be able to make gifts for my family!

I will check out your thread for crocheting for sure!
