Edit: I added potato salad since people seemed to be mad that I didn’t include it in the poll. This is because I was referring to protein-based salads and potatoes are not proteins. I also find it disgusting, but you do you.

I LOVE chicken salad (as long as it doesn’t have nuts or grapes. Whose idea was that?). My favorite chicken salad right now is the one from Whole Foods. Tuna salad is also fantastic and the best one in my opinion is from Corner Bakery. Both are great with cucumber and avocado mixed in when I make it myself.

Egg salad, however, is a crime against humanity. It’s slimy, textureless, and just gross. Then again, I’m not a fan of eggs, so maybe a dish with ‘egg‘ in the name is just not for me.

Thoughts?

Where is my boi potato salad? 😔

Seriously though, I love chicken salad on a lettuce wrap. Not even bread, roll it in a leaf of romaine and it gives it a nice refreshing crunch.

Egg salad is the best to have in sandwiches. Tuna salad requires the use of canned tuna, and why waste good chicken by mushing it around with so much mayo? I think egg lends itself well as a more 'neutral' flavour to absorbing mayo and other ingredients.

But yes, I agree. Potato salad FTW!

Chicken salad is really good, but I also prefer no grapes or nuts in it. I'll still eat it if it has them, but it's just not as good. I like my chicken salad pretty basic with just some celery mixed in.

Egg salad is ok, but I rarely eat it. I think it's been years since the last time I had some.

I can't stand tuna salad or anything fish-based, really.

tuna salad is good! i’ve only had it a few times and i spent the majority of my life disliking it, but i guess my tastebuds evolved as i grew up and now i find it pretty yummy! it’s not my favourite food but it’s not bad!

my favourite is definitely egg salad, though; i could eat that everyday without complaint🤤

For real though, where tf is potato salad. This isn’t the first time potato salad has been excluded on this forum. Back when the “favorite way to have potato” thread was still around, potato salad wasn’t an option there either. 😂

Chicken salad is good though.

I added potato salad to the poll. It was excluded because potatoes are not a protein and I was talking about protein-based salads. I didn’t realize that some people were so passionate about it lol

I love macaroni salad! It doesn't seem to be very popular (since it's not in the poll) but I would recommend it to anybody!

Apparently I'm the first to vote "these are all gross" but yeah, these are all gross. I just never liked the taste at all. Even though I live in a place where people love these kinds of salads - there are a lot more kinds of protein-based salads you can get here at supermarkets. People eat them on bread here as lunch mostly.

Are people just looking at salad and thinking this is a poll for the best salad? Potato salads are mostly carbs.

I like chicken and egg salad. I'm not a fan of tuna salad for both taste and environmental reasons.

Why is there a "These are all gross" option but not a "These are all delicious" option?

I'm fond of all of these, but at different times and for different reasons. Before COVID, I used to enjoy having egg salad finger sandwiches and tea for lunch on Sundays. And potato salad is a must if you're doing any kind of outdoor cooking.

Honestly, though, I think these are the kinds of food that if you like them at all, you only like the way your family makes them. For example, I love potato salad, but only the way my mother makes it. If I get a tub of it from the store or visit another family who makes it in their own way, it can be quite repugnant. When I was attending university, there was a cafeteria that served a fantastic egg salad sandwich that was quite different from my own but still enjoyable. But if you buy egg salad from the store, it's going to end up tasting completely different and having a completely different texture. It's only tuna salad that I've noticed is more or less consistent across brands and households, for some reason.

Egg salad sandwiches are sooo good! Tuna salad sandwiches are a close second. Potato and pasta salads are good side dishes. c:

What!!??No ham salad??Just kidding.Anyways,I like both tuna and chicken salad but I like chicken a little better and I don't mind if there's weird stuff like fruit and/or nuts in it.I'll have it with leafy lettuce or in a sandwich.

I used to be a vegan, and then a vegetarian, for a long time so I wouldn't eat any tuna or chicken salad. However I decided to start eating chicken again and I really appreciate it in all its forms. I don't eat too much chicken salad but funny enough I just had some from Trader Joe's the other day and I was thinking "I need to eat more chicken salad" :sneaky: But I don't remcomend theirs as it has too much mayo; it kinda made me regret it. I want to check out the Whole Foods one tho.

Chicken salad is good... egg salad is good on sandwiches... no to potato and tuna...

BUT! Macaroni salad?! THE BEST. >w<

Oh no! I chose chicken salad before I saw potato salad. I love both, though.

Egg salad in sandwich. Tuna salad on tostadas. Chicken salad only same day. I don’t like day old chicken.
