Chief moved in... but he’s not showing up!

I have a really weird glitch I might have run into today. I invited Chief to move in from an amiibo, and he kicked Hazel out. Today his house showed up in town...

But I can’t find him ANYWHERE in town, when I knock it says he’s not there, AND he’s not showing up on my island map.

Has anyone had this happen to them, or heard of it happening? Help?!

This is a known bug that's been happening for a couple of days I believe. It involves kicking villagers out via amiibo... Some people said that after a few days it fixed itself, but I'm not 100% sure on that one.

I didn’t realize this was part of the glitch. Has anyone been able to fix this, or do I just have to wait for an update in the future?

He probably on the mystery island tour and yes they do go on mystery island tour. But also he might be in the museum.

Have you checked your museum? Mine sometimes hide in there. ; w ;

Guys this isnt Chief being in the town and not being able to be found. This is Chiefs house being there but not showing up on the map or list of villagers at all. Its different.

Ohh, I missed that! I've never experienced this glitch personally but I would recommend reaching out to Nintendo if it doesn't fix itself. They probably won't have troubleshooting steps right now but ask them to take record of the glitch so they can possibly look into patching things. Make sure to give as much detail as possible.
