But I disagree with beastiality. Loving another someone is okay as long as they're a high sentient being who understands the concept of giving consent. If not, than it should be banned and put into law.

I find it to be quite funny that china expects everyone to stop watching internet porn. This new law isn't going to stop anyone. China can't sit around all day and babysit whats happening on peoples computers. Like really, what are they gonna do?
Swat a person's house everytime the individual clicks on an inappropriate website? That's a waste of time.

They actually just filter specific results. They provide the internet service; therefore, they can choose what people can and can not access.

In my opinion it's a human rights violation. China is making a horrible choice for it's citizens and the world will be worse off for it.

A lot of people, especially in Eastern countries and still lots of people in the West consider homosexuality abnormal, so this doesn't surprise me. Just saddens me that some people have been and are still being brainwashed into thinking that the only people who are people are white, cis and straight.

I saw a photo of someone at London Pride today and it was swarmed with homophobic comments saying that being gay is wrong, people using the f-word to describe gay people and threatening death on homosexuals.

China aren't a democracy like other Western countries, so this level of censorship is sadly common and has been seen in other countries such as Russia. It breaks my heart that countries aren't moving forwards but instead backwards in the fight to normalise LGBT people.

I can foresee this being very damaging on the youth/LGBT community in China. I hate that young people might have to go through hate crime or be kicked out of their homes because of being LGBT, coming from someone who's been kicked out of my own home.

The future is looking significantly less bright.

This is not (just) about porn. This is about anything and everything that contains any LGBT content at all, including television shows and films that feature openly gay characters.

Basically, anything they consider to have "abnormal sexual behaviour" in it is going to be getting taken down, and LGBT content is included in that.

Thoughts? I'm sure it's obvious to anyone who knows me well how I feel about this atrocity.

Well, it's China. While it's as stupid as any censor or ban they do, not surprised at all.

Is anyone actually surprised by this? Chinese people live under a totalitarian government that they're entirely reliant upon for survival. Many parts of China are impoverished and incapable of fighting back, even if they disagree with they laws they're forced to live under. I mean, if they have more children than they're supposed to, their government benefits for food and other things are taken away and it's incredibly difficult for them to support themselves.

Things like this are why I get so mad at Americans/ other westerners that say they want to become more reliant on the government (free healthcare and schooling both of which aren't actually free). When you give a select group of people that much power over an entire nation, they will abuse it. Think twice, most of my generation.

lol ok but im pretty sure there are a lot of countries where the government has a lot of responsibility where it works great. government funded healthcare isnt the same as an oppressive government that takes away its citizens rights and freedom. youre kinda reaching to get something that supports your views on something that is unrelated to the topic.

anyways on topic i really hope china's government just Stops w whatever theyre doing. i don't know enough about the political situation to wrte a bunch of stuff about it but dictatorship and attackimg human rights are never good things

Censoring the internet in general is just awful. People should have control over what they see and don't see instead of people making them see specific things.

Also, I seriously don't understand why the world is still fighting over LGBT people. It's so ********. Let people love and date who they want.
