Hullo!I just looked at your journal and it's hilarious.I've always loved the big bear villagers in AC so I'll definitely be on the look out for further installments of Goldi's Great Gossip.

Uhh......no,I'm actually Chubb from Nippo so I,uh....can see why there would be some confusion.......

Yep,so a Chippo resident moved away and I did a bit of Mystery Island hopping thinking that I'd take the first chicken or hippo I would find.Unfortunately,the first chicken or hippo was Harry.I like Harry but I'm not wild about him...heh.Anyways,I did find not one but two new villagers for Chippo:

Bertha and Egbert are now part of the Chippo clan.I had planned to get Bertha when I started this island but I didn't realize that I did not own her Amiibo card.Egbert is kind of a fresh face for me because I've never had him in an AC town or island before.Besides,how can you not like a chicken named Egbert?

Egbert and Plucky made a Bubbles sandwich.Bubbles' tail looks like a stinger.

The Normal Girls had their first workout together.

Umm,are you sure about that bud?You don't look all that comfortable.......

Yeah.....that's more like it.

Labelle recalls those memorable days learning about the world of fashion from the great Gracie but now is reduced to standing all day in the plaza of a strange island with two stupid chickens running around with twigs in their uh....well,they're not really hands,are they?I guess they're technically wings so we'll go with that.Eh....now I've lost my train of thought.Maybe I'll try this again later.

I finally caught Bubbles hanging out in front of her bubbly house.Hmm....I'm suddenly in the mood for a bit of champagne music.And a one-a and a two-a..........only oldsters will get that reference........

For starters,somebody here on this island is wearing the same outfit as me.Now I gotta go home and change.

I found a pumpkin island on a boat tour.I think that these may be the rare Polynesian island pumpkin that comes only in orange and must grow on these carefully placed bits of rectangular dirt.Very natural,aren't they?

I've reserved a space on Chippo for Rollo the lazy hippo if Nintendo ever decides to bring him back.I'm trying to duplicate his original house on the outside as well as the inside but most of his furniture and wallpaper are no longer in the game.I'd love to have a lazy hippo and a peppy chicken on this island.

I've been wondering the same thing for the past three years......

Oh,but when they do get some bells together you manage to chisel most of them away from your customers.Funny how that works.

I've never been crazy about the Fishing Tournament or Bunny Day and here we had them back to back.Joy.I'll have to say this,though....that fish is almost as big as a hippo's head.

It's a bit unfair to make my chicken villagers wear an eggshell on their heads.It's sort of like making a human character wear a diaper.Just for Bunny Day,they should change Egbert's name to "Eggbert".Seems fitting.

What does an Animal Crossing chicken eat for breakfast?We don't have corn or earthworms in the game so I assume they gotta eat bugs and fruit.That raises quite a dilemma for the lazy chickens because they might have to chomp down on some of their bug buddies.

Well,that Zipper Bunny guy is pretty annoying.He's just askin' for an egg bombardment.

Meanwhile,on the hippo side:

The hippos seemed restless on Bunny Day,They thought it was Nubb's idea to have them wear the silly egg costumes and prepared to trod upon him with a vicious hippo stampede until Nubb did some fast talking and placed the blame on someone else........

.....it's all Ava's fault!Stone her!Stone her....er,I mean stampede her!

Mmmm....candy eggs.Speaking of candy eggs,did anyone notice that there seemed to be a shortage of Cadbury Creme Eggs in the stores this year?Every Easter I get at least one package of these things and this year I couldn't find any.What's the deal??

No,Bertha.....don't be doing that.There would be this big alien conspiracy centered on Chippo with the Feds,tourists and UFO nerds invading our beloved island.Oh,what?You were just talking about those flying egg things?Never mind.

Yeah,Bunny Day puts me in an eggsitential funk.I try to be eggstra carefull to not eggsacerbate my condition because it causes my eggzema to become eggstraordinarily itchy.

Yes.....um......I mean no......I...I don't watch any hippos...no,sir,not me.I'm not some guy who sits there with high powered binoculars watching them frolic in the water with their large,firm bodies glistening in the late afternoon sun.Nope.

Sure,bud.....come on over.But wait until after your eyes stop looking like archery targets.

Nubb went and redesigned his humble abode.It kind of looks like a big square pumpkin now.

Volleyball anyone?It looks like Benedict is up for a game.

Umm,yeah...off I go to Ava's house for some fun.If I don't return,please notify my next of kin and don't rifle through my underwear drawer.That beaker looks dangerous.....

My villagers keep giving Nubb clothing.I think it's a polite way of telling him that he doesn't know how to dress himself.

Ah,now this is what Chippo is all about:A chicken and a hippo celebrating the joy of music.....however,something always seems to distract these animals from their blissful existence......

........such as bugs.We have butterflies the size of police helicopters.......

...along with big freakin' bumblebees...........

.....then there are the other villagers who seem to be programmed to do menial tasks for no apparent reason and at inappropriate times......thanks,Nintendo......

.....and there is the human factor on this island of animals.For some reason the humans think they control everything and have no boundaries...including a lack of respect for the personal space of others.Whoa,those hippo teeth are surprisingly clean and white.How'd she curve her beak like that?

To climb aboard the shady boat or not?That is the question......

In all the time I've been playing this game,I didn't know I could walk on these flat rocks on the north shore of the island.

I can help you with that!I'll dress up like Colonel Sanders and chase you around the island carrying a freshly sharpened axe.That'll get ya to run faster.......

If there's one thing that Nubb is known for,it's that he has a lot of balls.

It might be hard to believe but Chippo has been around for almost a year and Nubb caught his first sea bass just yesterday.

My lazy boys made the decision to get in shape and not be so........lazy.Ok,boys....show us what you got......

Um,yeah....take five boys.Well,Benedict did lift his dumbbell half way up but only after Nubb stuck a gummi bear on it.I guess it's hard to lift stuff when your arms are skinny wing-like appendages with no fingers.

Fun chicken fact: Chickens are living descendants of dinosaurs.

Yeah!I think it's rained for eight days straight here on Chippo.I'm from Arizona where we rarely get any rain so it really bothers me to be honest.Why can't they make it blazing hot for eight days in a row....or eighty days in a row like here in Phoenix?

Gee,thanks Rocco!That will go nicely with the black satin pencil skirt I just picked up.....um,er......for my sister.Yeah,that's it....I bought that skirt for my sister because what would a burly man like me want with a skirt?I have no fond desire to wrap my lower extremities in luxurious,satiny splendor..... .... That common paper kite butterfly is sure making Egbert nervous.That might be because Nubb told him that it was an extremely rare Tropical Vampire Butterfly that had a particular taste for the blood of flightless poultry....might be.

Yeah,that's one of the cool things about being a video game character...there's no smell in a computer generated world so your clothes never get stinky.

Today the answer to the age old question,"Do chickens fart?",is revealed.Yes...yes they do.

Nubb received the first anniversary cake and proudly displayed it in front of his palatial abode.It ain't much for eatin' but it sure looks pretty.

Oh,that retro dress you're wearing?I already tried it on....... before I gave it to you....um,you know....because I wanted to make sure it would fit you....and,uh.....I wanted to see if it was itchy or not.......and I wanted to feel like a shining space princess made of laser beams and love.........

Mental note:Make sure to remove wind chimes from front porch....or risk the chance of being pecked to death by an angry chicken.

It's pretty dull at 5:32 in the morning...so dull that Nubb resorts to imitating his scarecrow.

They really should design these machines so regular sized people can get in and drive them.That's what you get for buying those cheap Russian tractors.

At 5:32 in the morning,Egbert has been up all night making a highly useful cardboard bed.If this was the 80's I'd be thinking that the Egg Man had been on an all night cocaine bender but since this is the 2020's he probably just had too many Frappuccinos at Starbucks.

We had a Level 5 emergency on Chippo this morning.....a rogue hippo snout was spotted on the island's north coast during the game's opening credits.An emergency response team was dispatched and they found that an actual hippo was attached to the snout.The Level 5 emergency was subsequently canceled.

Whoa!I actually have a fish in my museum.Fish and chips are back on the menu,boys!

I caught Bertha talking in her sleep the other night: "Snnnorrff.....my name is Bertha.......Bertha Butt.......I'm one of the Butt Sisters........"

I'm not sure what that all means but all of a sudden it felt like things on the island had just become more.........funky.

Sure,pal.....wait a sec.You mean stuff like furniture and clothing,right?Right???

Wow,I've never received a villager photo from a treasure hunt.I had a feeling that I'd get my first Chippo photo from good ol' Benedict.

I popped in for a bit on Turkey Day and saw that it was a ladies only affair.Are they really gonna trust the manimals to do all the cooking?

I'd say that Bitty is in awe of Rocco's animal magnetism.From what I've learned about hippos,the touching of snouts is a symbol of affection but it can also be a by-product of having eyes on the sides of your head and not on the front.

Benedict was showing off his plumage in the mirror for Ava.He also tried to lay an egg for her but forgot that he's a rooster and not a hen.

We had the first snow of the season this morning on Chippo.Yep,it can snow in the tropics in a virtual world.

And here's the first mole cricket catch of the season.....and the first mole cricket catch of all time on Chippo.Bugs and slimy fish make Nubb feel a bit queasy.

Sadly,Benedict has yet to wear his Viking helmet.

It was Toy Day on the chicken and hippo haven called Chippo and once again my island rep is forced into some sort of peculiar holiday activity with the promise of material gain.Hey.....let's do it!

I am indeed dashing.....through the snow...or should I say sand?Why doesn't the snow collect on the beach?Most curious.

Yeah,they even gave me an official Team Santa uniform.

Yes,it's your Toy Day gift,Eggy.It's one of those wall mounted plastic singing fish that was popular about twenty years ago.How exciting.

Out of the blue,Bubbles surprised me with her photo.Now Benedict's photo looks a bit less lonely.

Speaking of Benedict,I've read that his name is in reference to the popular egg dish,Eggs Benedict but I like to think he was named after something or someone else.Perhaps the infamous American traitor Benedict Arnold?Maybe the popular English actor Benedict Cumberbatch(who,by the way,does the best Alan Rickman impersonation in the world)?I'd like to think he was named after another actor:

Yep,Dirk Benedict,the one and only Templeton "Faceman" Peck from The A Team and Lt.Starbuck from the original Battlestar Galactica.I think he and chicken Benedict have the same eyebrows.

I do believe that Rollo is a fuzzy navel man.

Whoa,Bitty is a regular Einstein.She's the only resident of Chippo to have graduated from some kind of school.

Yay,Chippo has a new bridge!I like how the chickens' main features are generally sharp and pointy while the hippos are soft,round and bulbous.Oooo.....I said that just so I could use the word "bulbous".
