Does anybody here send out Christmas/Holiday cards every year?

I've been trying to get into the habit, I skipped last year though because I ordered ADORABLE cards in November that were supposed to get to my house early December but didn't show up until the middle of January, so I got a refund, and kept the cards once they came SUPER LATE.

But I am going to be starting up again this year, I have some cute "Catmas" cards (from last year) and then some more Holiday appropriate because I have some Christian family which I am sure would be offended by it. I am also contemplating taking an awkward "family photo" of my boyfriend, me and my snake but I have to think about it a bit more.

So I was wondering do you send out cards, does your family? Do you take photos for them or anything like that?

I didn't know those were a thing. I thought they were just something in movies and TV shows though I never actually met anyone who's done them.

I plan to this year. I haven't done so before. My family is relatively small and we don't all talk much so usually family Christmas cards just aren't worth it. (Sorry, that sounds awful)

However, I collect dolls and have made a lot of doll collecting friends online. So my plan for this year is to take a cute doll photo and use it to make Christmas cards to send out. :D I've never done so before but I've thought about doing so before. Usually, I get busy and forget.

my parents do but i'll never send any. i don't really care about christmas that much

My family always sends out Christmas cards, mainly because a lot of people send cards to us so we send cards back. We use our favorite family photo from our most recent vacation. I don't think we've ever taken a photo specifically for the card.

For me it is quite important. Everyone sends cards to each other (usually super early so we will definitely receive them) and then we make a big display on a silver christmas-tree-shaped card holder that hangs on the back of our living room door! ^_^ It's really just a thing we have always done and we don't plan to stop any time soon! My immediate family always buys cards with cute kittens and puppies wearing Santa hats or the like and that's just our thing, one of my cousins immediate family always sends cards with silly Christmas puns on front and so on. This is just a common thing really, ever since I began school we have always sent cards to our class, you even purchase special little fancy stamps from the school office and you get the cards delivered on certain dates. You don't just send them to your friends either, the ones to your friends will usually have more writing or whatever but it is considered impolite if you do not send a card to at least everyone in your class. I didn't know this wasn't a normal thing elsewhere!

Whoa that's so excessive!! haha. I've sent christmas cards and presents to my pen pals, but we don't celebrate it in my family so we don't give them to each other. I send them to my pen pals because it's a nice excuse for a timely gift exchange :p I think I've sent cards to my family in america once to be polite cos they always invited me to spend christmas with them when I lived in the states.

I would like to. I get tons of lovely cards with envelopes in the mail ALL THE TIME, because I donated to some charities in past, so they send me these nice Cheistma cards. ( hoping I will send more money.lol ). I plan on giving them to family and coworkers this year.

I just give them to whoever gives me one so I don't look like a dick.

I don't particularly understand the point or like getting them otherwise.

I like to send cards to friends and some family. mom's big on Christmas cards. I'm not like her. lol
but she's never been into the family photo card thing. which I am thankful for tbh

My family has taken up pinning them around the arched entry in our kitchen, we usually put them on our mantle otherwise, but I've always wanted to get a nice card holder or make one of those cute hanging ones with the baby clothespins but I've always really enjoyed getting them, seeing all the different cards, and our close family friends send us more like a post card that says "happy holidays from the ____'s" and has a montage of family photos on the front, I've always thought those were a bit excessive, but i really want to do a photo simply to be funny like this winner:

My family has never sent out Christmas cards, the only time when we sorda did is my mom had our whole family of four make around a hundred or so home made cards to pass out at one of our nursing homes. We then met with most of the people there, talked to some, and handed them all out.

I'm just going to make hand-made Christmas cards to a couple of friends this year. It should be a lot of fun. I already have some nice ideas.

Otherwise I'm not too into this whole Christmas card exchange thing. My parents and relatives mail them every year though. It seems to me that they just think of it as an obligatory act of courtesy that they're too ashamed to stop participating in. The cards they send out are in no way personal. People just smudge their names below a generic, printed "Merry Christmas and Happy New Year". They don't bother writing even the shortest personal message or wishes to the receiver.

I just don't see the sense in that. All it seems to be about is trying to not seem rude to your neighbor's grandma's cat's cousin who sent you a card last year but who you didn't even remember existed. Sending cards shouldn't be done out of obligation but wanting to show you care. Making the cards personal requires minimal effort but makes a world of difference. I'd be more into this whole thing if it was more genuine. I'm always glad to see people enjoying sending Christmas cards!

I think it's kind of silly when people do that, I really like sending them just to my family and close friends because I know they'll appreciate it and it's a way of connecting in a nicer way than over facebook, which is what I pretty much am limited to now a days

I found and bought sweaters for our photo

And I tried to make a knitty-nobby thing to make a little sweater for my snake, BUT FAILED so I bought this little toy "knitting machine" that knits tubes so I'll make his sweater with that and then we'll have a beautiful Christmas Card. =D

I send out/give out Christmas cards but I don't have that many people to give them to. I just buy some cute bulk cards from Target and use those. Maybe I will throw a picture of my dog into the cards this year lol. Just lean into the whole dog lady thing XD

Found out my "catmas" cards didn't have any writing in them so I found my own things to write, some of them say: "We wish you a Meowy Christmas and a Happy Mew Year" and the others say "4 Calling Birds, 3 French Hens, 2 Turtle Doves, and a partridge in my belly!" to go with the cat theme to the cards, I hope people like them, going to do our photo this weekend hopefully and get some prints done down the road. I'm also giving a few framed ones to some of my family.
