Cockroachs?

chop down a tree, but don't dig the stump up. They appear on the stumps at daytime but most commonly night time.
 
They do not appear as a catchable bug in City Folk, but they infest your huse if you havn't played in a while.
 
You cannot catch them in City Folk.

@Whoever mentioned the stumps: The only bug you can catch on a tree stump is the longhorn beetle.
 
>_< Yeah I find it strange there is not much of a point to them. They are not on the 64 bugs list to catch. They do infest your house usually 3 of them per floor except the attic. Only if you time travel too far or don't play for awhile. Besides having to take the time to squash them they serve no purpose. I think it was a waste of space to program them into city folk. Leave it out of the next ac game Nintendo please.
