The Roost opened this morning. I attended the ceremony to open it and then went in to sample the brew. I was all alone, except for Brewster, since most of the villagers were sleeping. Kitt was the only one up, and she's hyper enough without adding caffeine!

I then ran over and got Isabelle to log the location of a park clock in the area where I want the park (near my fountain). Bonbon has left the campsite. I hope that means she's gone back home to pack and will be returning soon. She did say that she'd move in. Anyone know how long it takes for a site to be reserved after that?

I think putting the clock in barred anyone from moving to that site, which just leaves one spot open for a house. I think. I hope. Just to be on the safe side, I moved my lilies and violets down to the beach. The grouping of roses I had is safe next to The Roost, tulips are planted close to the fountain, and the pansies and cosmos are already nested in and around houses.

Kitt has come up with a new nickname for me. Most of the other villagers are calling me "shmoopy" (started by Peggy). Kitt had been using that, as well, but she came up to me and said she wanted a special nickname for me, suggesting "E-puff". I suppose someone will combine them at some point, and I'll be "shmoopy-puff"? lol

Beardo came by to visit. He loved my living room (almost all of the Balloon Theme in there), thought my kitchen was cute, and flipped over my bedroom. He kept saying that if he stayed longer, he'd want to move in, and would I like a roomie? :D He wasn't so keen on the side rooms or basement, though. I haven't found furniture to fill them yet, and he thought they were pretty barren. I'll probably get a gift from him tomorrow to fix that.

Well, I have a few letters to send and check on the shops. I want Shampoodle to open up - it's still covered in a tarp - but I got a Braided Wig from Labelle yesterday, so at least I can change my style a bit. I'd like to try for green eyes, if possible. That would match mine, although with the all-over pink hair (I only have pink bangs), maybe blue or violet eyes would look better? I'll have to see what the possibilities are.

Congratulations on unlocking the Roost! :) I'm looking forward to unlocking it, but I actually don't want it to be for a while because I still have to complete lots of projects...including the second floor to the museum!

Thank you! I understand wanting to wait a bit, but I was also using it to try and herd my last villager into moving where I want them. If I'd thought more about it, I would have chosen a different layout originally. My river really cuts the town apart. Oh, well. Just have to put my little stamp on it, because I'm certainly not resetting at this late date! :)

I originally didn't know about PWPs or anything like that so chose the first map. I hadn't really read much into the game and bought it simply because I love AC! I ended up resetting later for a better map and now I'm really happy with my town and villagers. I've grown to love Beardo, who I wasn't too fond of to start with, and now I'd never get rid of any of them for the world! They all add their own unique touch to Fairview, and I like the quirkiness of the town. It's not perfect - it's me.

I was the same way, Gemma. I pre-ordered the game when it was first announced and have been waiting for it for over a year. I honestly didn't know anything about it, but because I've loved AC in the past, wanted this version.

I've really come to like Beardo, too. I think my other favorite character is Vic. He seems kind of gruff at first, but he's definitely becoming a softy! I wouldn't trade any of my villagers, either, and keep making sure they know I want them to stay in town. Salem wouldn't be the same without them!
