Collectables question?

I've never bought a collectable before, and was just wondering if they can be rearranged or hidden from display? Or do they show up permanently in the order which they are bought?

Also, since there seems to be a limit to the number of collectables you can display, are the rest just stored in inventory or is there a cap on the number of collectables you can have too?

you can't put them in order
they can be hidden
when you hit max the rest are stored but you can hide the ones you don't like

Just rescuing the thread because I heard that the collectibles are organized according to a certain date right? Thus, if you managed well, you can order the collectibles as you want, can't you? But I need more info, since I'm a new in all this and I don't understand it very well x) Thanks!

They show up in the order they were purchased (newest to oldest), even if someone else gifts them to you. But there is a chance we will be able to change the order in the future.

Read something about re-arranging your collectibles (not bought services like username changes) the other day, apparently a mod had done it by activating them in your settings one at a time in the desired order. After a few minutes of testing, it seems they only display in alphabetical order.

How do you arrange them otherwise?

By default, it displays them in the order they were purchased. ZR said you can change the order by disabling all of them. I have not tested that yet, but if it doesn't work, there will be something in the future that will help.
