So I was just wondering why I can't gift my April and June Birthstones?

Because that is the way it has been since they were introduced just over a year ago.

I wouldn't delete them. Just hold on to them. You never know, they might change the system someday, especially if they don't re-issue the birthstones again after this round. They might become valuable.
