Do you have movies or even YouTube videos that are “safe” that you go back to over and over?

sometimes watching new stuff kinda stresses me out lmao I hate my brain.

some safe movies are mrs. doubtfire, Johnny English, the Terrifier and the babadook. The last two are horror but still cozy bc they’re familiar.

I swear the only YouTube channels I watch are Jenna and Juliens. Aries kitchen is my go to for when I’m eating.

What’s your comfort show? Or do you have one? Does anyone even know what I’m talking about

Right now I usually rewatch Crazy Ex-Girlfriend or BoJack Horseman constantly. On YouTube it's usually Pretty Much It, gameplays of games I know or just some random commentary video.

I have a very low tolerance for, and high anxiety reaction to, any sort of violence, whether it be in books, movies, or television. Accidents are one thing, and I'm not squeamish at the sight of blood, but someone deliberately hurting someone else? That will send me right into full-blown panic attack.

I've basically stopped watching television (well, that and the cost was too much for what I actually tuned in to), and tend toward older movies - mainly musicals. If I'm reading a book, I will skip a paragraph or even pages to avoid descriptions.

For a show, I can't think of something... maybe pulling out my copy of The West Wing, since that was more "smart TV" than anything else. I do consider The Philadelphia Story and Holiday Inn to be my go-to comfort movies.

bee and puppycat, moomin, rilakkuma (+ the rest of the title on netflix that i forgot lol), grace and frankie. those are the things i watch on rotation because they keep me sane

Not really to be honest. I don’t usually rewatch things nowadays. If I’m watching something, it’s usually something new because I want to experience something new.

I go back to shows like The Good Place, Grace and Frankie, the Harry Potter movies and anything to do with cooking/baking.
It's Always Sunny and Curb... always cheer me up too but if I'm feeling particularly 'delicate' I can't take all the shouting haha

I always go back to The Office, Friends, Mindhunter, The X-Files, and some of the cartoons I really liked to watch as a kid like Courage the Cowardly Dog. Moonlight is my biggest comfort movie, I watch it all the time and I don't think I could ever get tired of it. Lilo and Stitch, Toy Story, and Monsters Inc. all cheer me up too, and now that Portrait of a Lady on Fire is on streaming I'll probably watch it often.

The Office is the only TV series I could go back to, I think. It takes a lot for me to invest into a series, but there are a few films I could watch over and over and never get sick of!

Tangled and Big Hero 6 are two of my favourite Disney movies. Lilo & Stitch and the Fox and the Hound are two of my most nostalgic favourites.

My all time favourite film would have to be Interstellar, I’m obsessed with Hans Zimmer and anything space-y. The soundtrack in that film is honesty next level.

Aside from that I love watching cooking videos on YouTube, if I’m ever feeling a bit unmotivated I’ll stick a cooking video on and it perks me up straight away!

For me its Studio Ghibli films, the older pokemon and digimon series, and old shojo anime I used to watch when I was younger, like Fruits Bakset (though I'd class it different to shojo with its remake), there's something very calming about all of these for me, like the old styles just soften the worlds they create around me, its lovely.

Singing in the Rain as a movie also has the same effect, its one of my top favorite movies for this reason, one of the few good memories I have from someone unfortunate I grew up with in my childhood.

Anything involving stars or space or characters who admire the outer world as much as I do also helps me feel at peace, a connection always bridged with me when someone starts talking about the stars or the moon and how far but beautiful they are.

Refreshing ; v ;

Edit: Rocky Kanaka's youtube channel, oh my gracious that guy is a saint and seeing how much he loves dogs just restores my faith a bit in humanity sometimes.

My main go-to when I need to relax is My Neighbor Totoro, sometimes it’s When Marnie was There.

Arrietty for me! The music, the story, the magic. If I'm bummed out about something, I can put that movie in and it's really comforting. Plus, I had some amazing friends in my life during the time that movie came out, and even if they are sadly gone now, it kind of makes me feel like they are still around

I loooove Arrietty! It’s a wonderful story!

Bee and Puppycat! I also like watching Kitchen Nightmares clips and ASMR videos! My entire subscription list are basically ASMRtists and I love it.

a few years ago, markiplier and shane dawson videos were my safe videos. but now, my safe show is grey’s anatomy and i watch it everyday and have it on when i go to sleep lol

Friends is my ultimate comfort TV show!!

It's getting quite old so you can forgive its flaws, it's the perfect episode format for having a meal or a tea, and it goes on forever.

Several comedy, 20min episodes shows also work for me (The Office, Parks and Recs, even TBBT although I'm rewatching it now and it's making me cringe too often to entirely forgive (oh the toxic masculinity and sexism hidden under the thick blanket of "joking") but oh well I'm quarantined and bored)

Then of course, the HP series that I read and watch every winter haha

Friends and the Office, yes!

Also Avatar TLA, a few dramas (Boys Over Flowers, Mischievous Kiss: Love in Tokyo, Heartstrings, etc), and Youtubers such as Dashiegames/XP, Brutalmoose, and many more.

Somehow I find myself going back to those Steamed Ham memes on Youtube long after it was relevant. Also watching old episodes of the Simpsons.

Also there's a Youtuber I follow and her channel is called Emmymadeinjapan. She's kind of like the Bob Ross of strange food experiments. Watching her videos always puts me in a good mood.

Hmmm...I have quite a few of these.

For television shows...it would have to be the classic Simpsons episodes. I still appreciate some of the newer ones when I happen to catch them. But, the first ten seasons or so just hold so many nostalgic memories for me...and I can always relax when I'm watching some old school Simpsons. I think Futurama would also be a pretty solid mention.

Another television staple would have to be pro wrestling of all varieties. I've grown up on the stuff, and I know it's super corny...heck, sometimes it's downright bad. And that's what makes it such a comforting thing. There is always some form of it to watch (even now with no live sports, pro wrestling companies are finding a way to produce new content). So...yeah...any form of pro wrestling. WWE, AEW, NJPW, MLW, NWA...I keep current with all of it, and I'm always happy it's there.

As far as movies...I've seen Blues Brothers (1980) more times than any other movie, and it still makes me laugh when I go back and watch it again. I'm not one of those people who can watch movies many times...so that has always been a rare exception for me. That's just a classic movie.

-Comic books in general.
-Animal Crossing (obviously).
-Pokemon. Both the games and the television show. The movies too, I guess.
-Old Disney movies from my childhood.
-All sorts of music.

Tons of stuff on youtube.
Including, but not limited to: Good Mythical Morning, SuperMega, LGR, OneyPlays, Drawfee, CrafsMan SteadyCraftin, etc.
