I saw some Comic Sans today on a flyer at the grocery store. It was encouraging people to donate to a childhood cancer fund.
That's what I associate the font with?people using it informally for all-too-serious subjects. As a contrast, I've seen it used as the logo for a daycare center?it looked cheap, but it didn't look out-of-place, either. I think that Times New Roman is even worse. It has no place but on a high schooler's essay?and, even then, he's only using it because his teacher requested that he do so.
