Commissions and IRL money

So, there's been a bit of confusion on the Museum board recently. I've been under the impression that us artists are NOT allowed to sell our works for real money, because it states virtual goods aren't to be traded for that in the rules.

But are commissions considered "virtual goods"? Are we not allowed to make actual money off of our own art? Like, I understand it if it's AC items or something, but what of our own creations? The reason I'm confused in the first place is because others have thought it was fine, and so now everyone's confused, haha. Could I get a bit of clarification on this?

I'm simply asking if we can charge real money for our commissions, or if that's against the rules. Thank you!

I can understand if you'd use the forums as a small venue to advertise your art. I'd just refrain from selling on the forums directly.

Ah yeah, that's what I figured, since it applied to everything else? I was just a little confused on where the line was drawn. But thank you! c: I just want to have the knowledge to be able to tell others, since they seemed to not understand why they couldn't sell for cash here.

Hmm, I was under the impression that you WERE allowed to advertise real world monetary commissions. I had seen a post recently while browsing The Museum that stated the above. Perhaps it'd be best to keep that type of transaction restricted to PMs, but I'm almost certain this is something that's allowed.
