Concept of family members in animal crossing

here’s a list i made of canon villager families!

♡ Timmy and Tommy are Tom Nook’s nephews, meaning Tom has at least 1 sibling

♡ The Able sisters, along with their late parents

♡ Poko is Ike’s son as stated on his e-Reader card

♡ Isabelle and Digby are twins, as well as their parents (who are doing great)

♡ Lyle is Lottie’s uncle

♡ Dr. Shrunk mentions a wife and a son in one of his jokes but I can’t find it anywhere </3

♡ Mr. Resetti (Sunny) and Don Resetti are brothers

♡ Vicious Vole Vinnie is the Resetti brothers’ cousin

♡ Nat is Flick’s dad

♡ Chip is CJ’s dad

♡ Grams is Kapp’n’s mom

♡ Leilani is Kapp’n’s wife

♡ Leila is Leilani’s and Kapp’n’s daughter

♡ Daisy Mae is Joan’s granddaughter

♡ Katie is Kaitlin’s daughter

♡ Wilbur and Orville are brothers

♡ Phyllis is the older sister of Pelly

♡ Reese and Cyrus are married (duh)

♡ The snowmen, if you wanna count that

♡ Tortimer and his late unnamed wife

♡ Beppe, Carlo, and Giovanni are brothers

♡ Blathers is Celeste’s older brother

Interesting that so many of these are canon. Not as surprising that only a select few are villagers, as opposed to NPCs.

I'm pretty sure that Chrissy and Francine are sisters.

I prefer not to know what my virtual parents look like. It might conflict with the "Vague Age" trope invoked by our character, and our own imagined description of said virtual parents.

As @miss.sxnia said, we already have Special NPCs that have family members we can also talk to. While New Leaf did toyed with the concept of villagers having family members in April Fool's, I wish we had more dialogue detailing their family lives, even if it doesn't seem feasible to implement for each of the hundreds of villagers in the game.

I have to say, if there are any dead cannons of family members. For me its got to be Cranston and Gladys. If you look at their designs. I think they could be siblings. I realised this when I had them both on my island, then I got rid of him as I don't like Lazy villagers, but my thought still stands.

I don't think we'll see anything about parents beyond what we already see. I guess it is possible Isabelle's parents could be new NPCs in the next game for something. Her parents are mentioned ALOT.
Kappn is a parent and we've seen his whole family. We've seen pictures of the able sisters parents. We see siblings multiple times. Reese and Cyrus are married. Harvey and that poodle are dating. There are other NPCs with back stories and things like this mentioned that can be built upon. The turnip boars were built upon with daisy mae already being the offspring.

I do like to pretend Frett is Isabelle's dad or some other relative.

It’s funny you say that. We do know she has a brother, Digby.

Okay I get that this is a personal headcanon, but I find it hard to believe that Chrissie and Francine are the only villagers that are related.

I don’t think we’ll ever learn anymore of our mom’s lore. They’ve had decades to do it and haven’t done it so I doubt they will. I also think somewhere in all these villagers there’s more relatives than just Chrissy and Francine.

Like it would be weird to only have one group of siblings amongst all the villagers. I know the NPCs have their siblings and family members. I feel like we know quite a bit of their family history. Isabelle and Digby, Pelly and Phyllis, The Able Sisters, Don and Sonny Resetti. I feel like we have enough background info on NPCs and their family members.

Perhaps some of the villagers are cousins if not immediate family. Some of them just look too familiar and similar to not be related in some way.
