Confirmed and unconfirmed hybrid combinations

It’s definitely possible that hybrids from islands are different as with my blue pansies making purple so easy.

Hi flower experts thanks for opening the conversation up. I'm new to hybrids and trying to get my blue rose farm going. Appreciate if someone can help me to confirm the following will work for me? BTW is this what might be considered a "classical" approach from previous AC games? Are there any problems with this as I can't seem to find out why the guide in the OP is any better?
Red x Yellow = Orange
White x Orange = Red* ("special")
Red* x Red* = Blue
Red x Yellow = Orange
White x Orange = Red* ("special")
Red* x Red* = Blue
Supposedly, two orange roses can yield blue roses every now and then.
Edit: I should also probably note that orange and purple roses yield hybrid red roses more frequently. I never had much luck with orange and white in New Leaf.
Definitely probably explains it! I think when people are posting their results, they should specify if the flowers they used to breed the hybrid were taken from a mystery island or not, just to keep things consistent and avoid bad data.
That would be helpful, I’ll add something to the first post to clarify.
As a precaution I only list ‘confirm’ when I’ve seen it my self however, I will be creating a table to include all the results from the everyone and will include these.

Got a blue hyacinth this morning from 2 pink ones! I took a photo cause I was so surprised.
(I bought my first batch of pink ones, so I do not know whether these were from a mystery island or not)

Interesting, I would imagine that may be because the pink hybrids have white parent flowers which allows them to produce purple.

Hi again Rose/flower experts, was wondering if someone could answer for me:
If I breed Roses White x White and get a White offspring, is this offspring 100% the same as a store-bought one, as in they will have the same breeding capabilities? I.e., can I expect to still get Purple roses by breeding the new offspring with its store-bought mother? Most importantly would I still be able to use this new offspring to breed with Orange Roses to get special Reds? Thanks again

So according to this to make green mums you need yellow and red which make hybrid yellows which can then spawn green.

I still think there’s multiple ways to make almost if not all hybrids and this also seems to confirm my suspicion that hybrid islands give unique hybrids that can in turn create rare hybrids much easier. Yup I saw that chart too and while it seems like it could be accurate, I feel there are other combos to breeding the same flowers. Example being
Red+orange = black lily
Pink+orange = black tulip
Would love to see a compilation of all known (non mystery island based) combos. As that’s something that I’ve not seen any guide doing yet.
