CONFUSED ON OCs ADOPTABLES etc...

Sorry, so I'm kind of confused. (Also I'm not sure where to post this, so sorry!)
So, I'm just wondering what this means... if anyone could explain that's be great! Thanks!

whats the whole adoptable/oc thing?? It sounds awesome but I don't get how it works... this is what it seems to be like but idk
one person makes an oc and people can 'adopt' it so it's now theirs? This is basically giving the person an oc if I'm correct. Then you can store it on toyhou.se or something. Then other people can draw your oc for you.
Well, I just realized that's all I really know. Also, what's this thing about toyhou.se codes? I heard you have to get one to sign up. Is this true?

What's the whole adoptable/oc thing? Pretty much what you said, OC's/Adoptables can be made by you or other people, you can sell them or buy them. It's cool to have them, and you can incorporate them in stories or getting art of them is fun. If you "adopt" it, it is now owned by you.
