Contest and Event Private Submission Guide
Many of our events you are able to participate in simply by posting in-thread. However, the four contests as well as several other events have a private submission process that must be followed to ensure your entry is counted! Those contests and events are:
Contests
- Little Lullabies
- Magazine Mash-Up
- Sleepover at Harvey's
- Sparkles in the Sky
- Count Inside the Bottle
- Half-Past Hoodwinked
- House of Nightmares
- Switch Stars
- TBT's Crazy Dream Sequence (prompt only)
To submit your entry for these events, you need to go to the Private Contest and Event Submission board and make a new thread for each submission. You will then be presented with a set of fields to fill out. Those are:
- Event Name - select from the drop-down menu which event you are submitting for. This is so that the event host can easily find every entry for their event.
- Event Round # - what round of the event you are entering a submission for. Events can have between 1-7 rounds. This is so that the host can easily distinguish what round your entry is being submitted for. If it is a contest you do not need to enter a round number.
- Text Entry - if you are entering Half-Past Hoodwinked, House of Nightmares, or submitting a prompt for TBT's Crazy Dream Sequence please enter your submission here.
- Numeric Entry - if you are entering Count Inside the Bottle please enter your guess here.
For example, this is how I would enter a submission for Round 3 of Count Inside the Bottle:
NB: The title of the thread isn't important, so don't spend too much time stressing over what to put there! Event name, round number, or even just your username is fine.
You will be able to tell when a staff member has reviewed your entry by checking to see if a prefix has been added to the thread. We will add either the "Accepted" or "Update Needed" prefix to your entry to let you know the outcome of your submission. If an update is necessary then we will post in the thread to let you know what you need to change about your submission in order for it to be accepted.
If your entry has not been looked at please do not bump the thread - it will not encourage us to review your entry any faster! Staff will post in the relevant event threads once all entries for a round have been reviewed. They will let you know when is appropriate to contact them about submission status.
