Controversial opinion: There's no such thing as a "bad" villager

Barold is pure nightmare fuel. No one will ever convince me otherwise.

Also not a fan of the birds, they all look strangely like one of those novelty drinking bird things and I don’t like it!

I agree with you, I once had someone tell me they didn't like Chops because he had moved his house on top of a flower field a player had made for a different villager... funny thing is that this didn't even happen on that persons game, they were just jumping on the hate train someone else had created with this story. Also, it could've been ANY OTHER villager, it just happened to be Chops who was generated from the games code...
I've only had one villager I did not like seeing in my game and it was Jitters, because every time I saw his dark circles, they reminded me of my baggy eyes 😭 (I do kinda miss him though)

Maybe if there was more differences between villagers there could be bad villagers, but as it stands there's 391 villagers with 8 personalities assigned to all of them. What skin coating do you want on your jock personality? But then, the series does seem to have a tendency to get people focused on superficial matters like appearance.

I don’t believe there are bad villagers. People just like different villagers, but we shouldn’t demean people due to the types of villagers they like. I feel like we find excuses to hate on villagers we never really liked in the first place. A villager we like could give us a toilet and say it reminded them of us, but we wouldn’t think twice about it.

A villager I plan on moving onto my island soon is limberg. I think he looks really cool and his house is awesome.

The only time you ever hear his name is when people want to talk about ugly or bad villagers.

Honestly it's the cutesy popular villagers I dislike the most.
I just find them so bland!
Like, a generic kids book duck. Or a regular looking wolf with no design at all.
I dont get the appeal at all.

Taste is subjective. And that's fun!
I'm glad we all get to see the types of villagers we like. If we all wanted the same villagers, we wouldn't get so excited sharing our love for them, as everyone would already know it.

And having villagers you dislike in the game also makes it extra special when you get the ones you do like!

So I guess... I think thinking some are bad, is actually a good thing!
Unless you're a weirdo who would put down a person for actually liking or having a villager.
Then you're no longer on about a villager, but a person.
