Could you help me decide on a theme?

I want to start terraforming and decorating my second island! But I just can’t decide on a theme
There’s currently 2 that speak to me a lot:
Jungle-core with lots of ruins, vines. A bit like Zelda breath of the wild and the new vine items would be perfect for it!
Or:
City core. But with a dreamy-fairytale touch. The new nook miles items are perfect for that and the cars etc would fit in it so well!

my first island is tropical-festivale themed and im obsessed with it! It’d love to put the new vine items on it too but it’s pretty much completed.
Any ideas? Or preferences? I really love both themes equally lol

I would go with jungle-core. The new pillars and stuff are just amazing. It's so much fun to work with the new items and I just have a preference for themes that include nature. I just started my second town with ruin core/ acient greek core. Sooo I would def go with jungle core

Yessss me too! The only reason why I didn’t go with jungle theme immediately is that my first island has jungle elements but paired with a colourful festivale theme!
so I was thinking to do a more natural jungle theme with ruins and fossils and with a tropical touch.
But I’d love to use all the new city items too and go wild with them, I wish city and ruins/jungle wouldn’t clash so hard theme-wise lol

That’s an interesting idea actually!! Do you think that cars would fit with that tho? Or thr new nook mile items?

i haven’t actually seen the cars in game, but I don’t see why not! Maybe if they have green colors you could act like that is them aging.

You could try combining both, and go for a ruined city that has been overgrown by nature over time!

I agree with combining both! You could have a city area and then the outskirts could be a jungle.

Is there any way you could do mostly a city area, but then have a ruined jungle area of the island with all of the jungle items? I feel like that would make a really interested contrast to your island that people could explore.
Like the shops and houses and museum could be in a city area, but then hidden on another part of the island you start to see jungle items mixed in with the city stuff and then suddenly it’s all jungle.

I like the jungle idea! I wouldn't be opposed to having a small city area somewhere as well.

That was what i was thinking too, since you have two islands and your first one is already lets say jungly vibed i would definitely do the second option for your second island just to be able to have two radical different islands.

If you have different themes you will be able to enjoy more of the furniture since you will be able to play with more furniture for the different themes. If you still want to use the new items for the jungle theme you can just edit your existing island and reshape it to fit that jungly yet festive isla

jungle/forest in my opinion! city islands seem a little limiting and they’re so time consuming + personally more natural aesthetic feels kind of comforting and always interesting to me

Rn I’m thinking to start with a picturesque city/ town that gets more and more overgrown towards the jungle area. Maybe on the outskirt I could use the ruined items to make a transition to a jungle area?
It’s my current idea. Since i I have a tropicore island it’s maybe more fun to start with a city area although I kinda prefer more natural too! Here’s some pics of my first island:
