It's 2am and i can't sleep because i'm being very paranoid for some reason so know i'm listening to an emotional song by Rob Thomas called Little Wonders on repeat while watching Family Guy muted and just reading the captions without glasses. Any tips on going to sleep?

When I was very young I had trouble sleeping all the time. The trick is to do the exact opposite of what you'd think you'd do, which is to think. Think about anything. Sex is most fun, but whatever floats your boat. Keep your eyes closed, get in a comfortable position, and don't think about sleeping. Just think, and you'll be off in no time.

I like to think my way through something that takes time. So, I would think about each part of the human body, starting at the feet and ending at the head, and by the legs I'm usually asleep. So, yeah. Try that!

really? im the opposite, i generally cant sleep unless im not thinking about anything  everyone goes to sleep in different ways. usually for me i just mute my phone, lie down, close my eyes and just think about nothing for a few minutes and ill fall asleep really quickly.

honestly ive hd insomnia for a big part of my life n i didnt deal very well w it. used to stay up until i got so tited that it hurt to be awake. now i'm on a medication that makes me tired so i dont have as many problems anymore.

but the wasiest thing for me was always to give up on trying to sleep. it only stressed me out and made it harder to fall asleep. lol might not make u fall asleep tho bc it's literally just giving up bUt

sucks to hear you got no sleep.

i've had lots of trouble sleeping, especially with my anxiety and crap, but what i'll do is i'll go on youtube and watch either some videos that relax me, or will make me laugh..i find that when i'm distracted from my anxiety, i can sleep a bit easier. thats what i had to do last night, and it worked

i know this is late now, but just in case you'll need it tonight

Sleepless nights suck, and you can't really force yourself to sleep. Though bright screens will keep you awake, I'd suggest reading a physical book and when you try to sleep either imagine how the book might end or if you already know just change something and imagine what could go different. I always have sleeping problems, but usually fall asleep after 1-2 hours of daydreaming.
Or you could always try sleeping with music to block out the things that are keeping you awake.

I've heard it's like... scientifically proven that looking at a screen close to bedtime makes it harder to fall asleep because the blue lights activate your brain and make you feel more awake or something? So I'd read a book or meditate with the lights off or something that doesn't involve a screen.
