Criteria for Thread Deletion

Threads are getting deleted by the staff and there is no apparent explanation for it.

So what is the specific criteria for thread deletion? Is a question to the community seriously not allowed? Because I've seen countless other people post questions and polls asking about community opinions on varied topics.
