Critiques needed!

sooo I decided to make my own character reference sheet.. it's my first time making one so I'd really appreciate advice/tips on how and what to improve!




also... I dunno if ref sheets are still a huge thing, but if ever, how much would you be willing to pay for one (in BTB)..?

lol thats a bit rude to the actual artist. i dont think they drew the person themselves, just making the ref sheet with the art.
*well they colored it xD so i can give advice on that...
Seems ok to me o.o i guess perhaps 200-300 btb for a ref sheet like that. The more complex the more btb c:

Didn't know it was a ref sheet. Honestly I'd say they should go for 0 btb. No offense, but there is no creativity put into it. Most of the people here just pull stuff off of google and pinterest. Anyone can make them... Well unless you're drawing some of the characters yourself, then it's a different story.

mm i'll have to disagree, it does take at least some artistic sense to put the refs together into one img. and have it look nice and clean too. c: but yea, she looks a little bit manly, just a little. Uhm since you use a mouse to color, i suggest you stick with cell-shading~ cell shading is basically, not blending out your darker shades. c:

For coloring:
i kind of notice that you mainly used 50 shades of grey to color.
you can use this color palette, that i mainly use:

hmm.. well i do get your point tbh but i think people pay for the service like, the ref sheet makers do need to put time and effort in making them so yeahhh lol

Depending on how complex it is. But this looks really good. I like the colors you've used.

Also saying everyone can make these is kinda untrue. You still need a good eye for colours and arrangement.. not everyone is gifted in that sector, they could make a ref sheet or something similar but it might end up looking really bad. Also some people are just lazy and don't feel like making one themselves, so they pay for the service.

I think it's cute. Keep up the good work.

I personally believe that simple ref sheets like this are way better than the ones with millions of things on them. it takes away from the actual point of being a ref sheet.
Also, NEWSFLASH, not everyone can make them. they are the most difficult kind of gfx in my opini?n, but if anyone can make them , id like to see your hand at it.

Just to let you know, people don't follow what they say. People have told me that my ref sheets are worth 300 BTB, and then when I opened a shop and sold them for 100, I ended up bumping the thread 10 pages in a row.

They can tell you how much they think it's worth, but it doesn't mean they necessarily need it. Ref sheets are lower in demand because it's usually only one per OC, whereas art itself is unlimited.

Exactly. What I mean is that if you're sellling it, you need to be really, really good at it since why would people buy one from you when theres another shop over there that's better at it and sells them for half the price
