Has anyone else had things disappear from their Critterpedia?

I came properly back to the game last week and before that I'd been playing from launch until September 2021. When I returned and updated I time travelled back to the last day I'd played so I could try to catch up on what I'd missed (seasonal items and Halloween) and make my way back to real time. I tally my catalogue and my Critterpedia in an app and I had completed all the museum exhibits except for the art gallery. I noticed however that my in-game Critterpedia said I was missing three sea creatures - the snow crab, the firefly squid, and the spider crab. I was pretty sure I'd caught them all on the same day and donated them so it puzzled me.

Regardless, I got two seasonal Kapp'n islands this past week and was able to catch the snow crab and the firefly squid, but when I went to give them to Blathers, he wouldn't accept either saying I had nothing to donate. I checked the Critterpedia and now they were there with the "donated" mark. So I went to the exhibit to check and they're both there... With the spider crab (see attached 2). I confirmed I caught all three on the same day (3rd March 2021) and they were the last three to complete the exhibit.I went digging through my screenshots and I found the one from that day of Blathers congratulating me on completing my sea creatures exhibit (see attached 3).

My Critterpedia still says I'm missing the spider Crab (see attached 1), and I'm missing the stamp in my nook miles for completing the sea creatures (39/40). Weirdly, I have the sea creatures poster from the 2.0 update and have the ability to purchase it so surely I must have had the complete exhibit when the update came out...

Is this just me or have others experienced anything similar? Is this an update glitch? Is it a TT glitch?

Here is some tips to help you. If you see an "Owl" Icon the creature you have it will indicated that you had it donated, however, if you don't see it then that means that the creature you caught wasn't even donated.

Also I learned that if you recently transferred a new resident to a new switch and they become the new Island Reprehensive, that means that the Critterpedia remains the same but the only thing is all those creatures that you recently caught will not show up as "Donated". It makes it hard to know what creature have not caught when you're used to character saying "Yes" which means you caught something new.

I had that happen to me too! I think it's a TT glitch cause i TT to complete my criterpedia.
do you have more than one character on your island? maybe you could’ve caught and donated the creatures under a different person’s account.
Nope, just me!

I'm using the same switch, same file I've always used, no other characters on my island. I know I definitely donated them because I have the screenshot of Blathers congratulating me for finishing my sea creatures exhibit! My Critterpedia right now has nothing whatsoever for the spider crab (not caught, not donated), but it's there in the exhibit donated by me back in March 😅 (see the attachments in my original post!)
