Current Tier List

And just because practically nobody can master Ganondorf doesn't mean he should be low tier. :(
..........

Did you know that DDD has an infinite chain grab on ALMOST every character? That really doesn't matter much in terms of tier placing, but it adds up. Meta Knight will probably end up being banned in tournaments for being so easy to master and so powerful. Again, those who say MK sucks, I will be more than glad to show you online why he is so powerful.

Yeah, I know about the chain grab. But I don't think that's enough to put him up that high.

Bul, that can be your epic fail post of the week :p Dedede greatly deserves that spot for many reasons. You just need to face someone that has him mastered. Heavy weight, great recovery, projectiles, strong smashes, infinite chain grab plus more.

Heh, just the other day I was talking to my friend about this. He claims that:

Using Zelda/Sheik or Pokemon Trainer, you can't lose since you've got more than one character.
Kirby is ridiculously powerful.
Ike is the perfect combination of speed and power.
Along with those people, Meta Knight and Lucas are the best characters in the game.

He calls that his "secret to winning Brawl".

I think Dedede is a good character, but like any character he has his weaknesses. Pair that with the fact that, while not the hardest, he is difficult to master in my opinion, and his odd name/looks, and you get an unused and underestimated character. (At least, most people I play with don't use him. Ever.)

And I agree with Ky!e. Tiers can be a rough guideline if you want to, but there is no universal best character in my opinion. The best character depends on many factors; who you're playing against, the stage, what items are turned on/off, the experience of the player, and just overall who the player is. For example, I wouldn't use Ganondorf of a moving stage, because he'd have trouble keeping up compared to others. Of course, I mostly stick to lighter characters, keeping one or two heavy fighters for those times I see it necessary.

I brawl with my friends all the time and I think they've used him once and only because I picked characters for them.

Wow, I'm surprised Mario is low on that list. However, I can understand why MK and Mr. G&W are up at the top.

As for King DDD, his position really surprised me as well. When I play as him, I usually do terrible. He's slow and vulnerable, but at the same time, he's powerful. Well, I guess everyone's different when it comes to characters they play well as.

Eh, to be honest I never thought Mario was that good. I think they made him more of an icon than a good fighter. As a fighter for a beginner or (Very) casual player just looking to play a few rounds and do well, he's fine. He's middle weight, making him relatively easy to use, and his A attacks aren't half bad. But his B attacks to me just suck. His Fireball, his only long-ranged attack, does a pitiful amount of damage most of the time. And, correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think his B> or Bv do any damage at all. I'd only use him on a team with an experienced player, and then I'd just be more of a "supporter", collecting items and helping to weaken players. On the plus side, his throws are great.

God Tier
Metaknight (I play as him occasionally, but not as much as I originally planned to.)

Top Tier
Snake
King Dedede
Falco

Upper Tier
Mr. Game&Watch (Used to be one of my mains, but I don't like him as much now)
Marth
R.O.B.

High Tier
Kirby (My main!!!)
Pit (Fun to play as but a bit cheap)
Wario (I play as him quite often, Nuke Fart=awesome)
Donkey Kong (Used to be one of mains)
Lucario
Ice Climbers
Wolf (One of my mains)
Peach

Mid Tier
Olimar
Luigi
Diddy Kong
Zero Suit Samus
Zelda
Ike
Pikachu (Should be higher...) (...And one of my mains)
Fox
Toon Link (A new favorite of mine)

Low Tier
Samus
Ness (One of mains but I prefer Lucas now)
Bowser
Sheik
Lucas (Should be higher)
Mario
Ganondorf
Pokemon Trainer
Sonic

Bottom Tier All of the below deserve these spots
Link
Yoshi
Jigglypuff
Captain Falcon

I always won matches with game & watch to insult people... with my group of friends they consider him the worst character. >.>

I will agree with you on the fact that Mario's B attacks aren't exactly the most deadly. And yes, Mario's B-Down does no damage whatsoever (not sure about B sideways).

But the only reason I do well as him is because of his A attacks, and his Final Smash. For me, Mario has just the right balance of speed and power as well.

BTW, has anyone ever KO'd someone using Mario's B-Down attack? The only possible way I can think of that happening is if your opponent is very close to the edge on Flat Zone 2 and you spray water at them. Other than that...

Mario's FS is so easy to dodge. I don't know why people consider it so amazing.

Mario is not as bad as you think. Is midair a side is PERFECT for spiking. His B-Side cape is good for those who but mash up close like Ganny and fun to reflect Lucario and Samus's fully charged B move. B up is good now and then but mainly for recovery.
B down is useless, I agree.
His fireball is really pointless in general, but some situations make use of it. Like a disrupter for Falcon Punches and the like, and since its fire, can blow up explosive crates and keep at a distance.

His Final Smash can be tricky to make the most out of, and one of the most useless ones (Peach having the most useless one).

Oh yeah, is A side smashes are good enough for launching. So yeah, hes not an icon at all. Hes good in a way.

This list is actually very accurate. If you've been to any tournaments you would definitely agree. I've been to a few now, and the only thing i would change is lucas and sonic, I'd put them a bit higher. Other than that...

And yes, Meta Knight is that good and can be that cheap. You would be surprised. And also Dedede. He's underestimated a lot.
Dude, I main Pika, so seriously, Meta Knight's the easiest character to beat.
You think Pika has problems with airborne characters? lolololol.

He really is. And he's not hard, as much as he's not excellent unless you time right.
He's all timing.

I never find good Pikachu players. Does me sad. :[
