Well, I started a cycling town and I'm using the day by day cycling method. You can find the thread here. The town is named after my first ever ACNL save file and has some decent villagers. No tier ones yet, though. While setting it up, I tried to keep in mind that a lot of people on this site work and/or go to the school, during the day. So I made sure to make the reservation time about the length of the average school or work day to ensure people who had reserved villagers would have a fair shot at getting of them. Other than the reservation fee, though, all the villagers are free. It makes me sad that there are so many people who have dreamies that they would want to keep for a really long time, but never get to adopt them because the adoption or auction prices are through the roof. I've been in that position more than once myself, so I know how that feels just like I'm sure everyone else on the site does. And that is essentially the reason I started the cycling town.
I'm still getting the hang of the cycling method, but so far it's been working well. The cycling process is really time consuming, but that's just something I'm gonna have to deal with until I'm more comfortable with using a quicker method. There have no accidental move outs yet, which is why I chose this method. To avoid those, and I built a campsite and enacted the Beautiful Town ordinance so that I can move in more villagers and keep the town clean. I figure I have to look at it the majority of the time, so I may as well like it.
Other than all that, I'm really pleased with the town and the villagers. I'm very glad that I made the decision to do this and I hope I'm able to help some people find their dreamies.
