Flamenco means flamingo, deal with it.

Uhm...

My teacher said it was a coincidence that the dance means flamingo, wheraes the word itself means flamingo.
Then he doesn't know what he's talking about, it comes from flamingo.

He's been playing flamenco for over 40 years... From my sources, you've been playing flamenco for around... 0 years?
I've been speaking Spanish all my life, and it isn't possible that the name of the dance was just randomly chosen, it's like making up a dance and calling it "Pantaloons" and saying it is just coincidence. It's a latin word, so the animal could'nt have been named after the dance.
Maybe I'm confusing something, then, I'll ask him again next week.

And Fish, my name wouldn't mean flamingo either way.
