Because I saw a thread on here for Japan, do you like South Korea?
I love Korea's culture, personally, and even smaller things from 2NE1 music to Hyundai cars.
By the way, I meant to put "I am South Korean" as the second-to last option choice, not "I am South Korea".

I like the culture a lot!! :D but my interest in Kpop did help me discover Korea (as sad as that sounds).

*sobs* I wish there were some Korean restaurants where I lived. I really want to try some of that delicious food <3

I love k-dramas and a few k-pop groups eee

The language is awesome too
So far I know 천천히 말해 주세요 ay I'm so good

aND SEOUL IS SO PRETTY

they aight, they cool with me. They gave us mystic messenger and other cool stuff. thank you for that btw.

I'm half Korean but don't feel any affinity for the country or culture. My parents had just moved there to retire and want me to visit next year but otherwise I wouldn't bother. Already been a couple times and would rather go somewhere new anyway.

the rise of the country threads!

i guess i dont mind S.Korea

i like to drink soju. and that's about it. for some reason korean food is the only Asian cuisine that i dislike. altho i do like kimchi.
i like the korean moves ive seen though. and i love the fact that they love baseball in korea.

i meant to say i like korean movies, not "korean moves," lmao

Well, I wouldn't mind trying kimchi! Other than that I don't know what to think about it. It's just kind of there, I guess.

I've been to Korea twice and had bad experiences both times, so it's not for me. I love their food and cosmetics, though.

^ I'm half korean too (Y).

I grew up in Korea and lived there most my life. I'm "korean" to anyone I introduce myself to, but I don't identify much with korean culture. I would not move back though, as much as I miss the food, certain neighbourhoods, and of course my mom and grandma. I was always viewed as an alien there. I looked korean but did not sound or act korean. I was automatically put in a social hierarchy system that I didn't agree with (not talking about just being respectful to your elders, I'm talking about being forced to drink by your "older oppas" to the point of alcohol poisoning and this is supposed to be normal in social and work culture, that kinda stuff). My mom got a lot of **** from people she knew for marrying a non-korean and was ostracised, etcetc. This view is slowly changing but back when I lived there it was pretty hard on me and definitely helped me develop some sort of identity crisis. \_(ツ)_/? also I don't like kpop at all. I still remember when I went to my first "kpop concert" and it was G.O.D... best group ever ughhh <3

I know very little about South Korea although practically all of my friends here at uni adore it lmao. I've listened to kpop and stuff and it's cool but I don't think I feel really any sort of appeal to it.

I'm not too familiar with the culture, but I'd love to learn more about it. It sounds very interesting and unique- I'd love to try some Korean food too, but sadly there isn't any in my city as far as I know >->
*Does google search*
Nope, sadly :c Perhaps one day I can visit the country though, Hanboks are beautiful and I like the Korean language.

I view it the same as any other country I don't live in and isn't war-torn to hell, I don't have an opinion on it.

I think South Korea is pretty neat. I like their food, and their phones (when they don't explode). There's this one girl in one of my classes that is definitely a Koreaboo. She signs her name on assignments in Korean then puts her name in English in parenthesis next to it. She says, "I'm leaning Korean from KPOP and Korean Drama." And all she ever talks about is KPOP. Everything she owns is covered in members from KPOP bands. Now, I think that liking and respecting a certain culture is awesome, but she acts like she's Korean even though she clearly isn't, and it's annoying and disrespectful.

*snip*

I never had this identity crisis but grew up in the United States and in a city where the mixing of cultures is pretty much its identity. But people had always seen me as Asian so that's what I had always identified with, even though I'm also half white. Other mixed people can tell that I'm mixed with few exceptions. I was given a lot of **** as a kid but it's just kids being kids (i.e. little ****s). Only know one other half Korean person IRL so they've been pretty rare. :p

Do miss my mother's cooking and still dig Korean cuisine. Hard to find genuinely amazing Korean food where I live now. :(
