Good afternoon, everyone! It's a lovely day in Storrs with not a cloud in the sky. Stopping by the bulletin board during my walk, a little birdie told me that it's almost cherry blossom season! I remember when I first moved to town, the cherry blossoms were in bloom. I'd never seen such a beautiful sight before, so not only are the cherry blossoms visually appealing but they also bring back good memories. And the first fishing tourney of the spring season is going to be this Saturday! I'm excited for more fishing tourneys, since I need to start working harder for the fish guy's furniture pieces. I only have about three or four stashed away in a museum room. Same with the bug guy.
My money rock today was an ore rock, and Reese was paying premium for ores today so double score. Dropped by Nook's again for an HHA update, and with the addition of my Sweets roof and mailbox (which look terrible, by the way), I gained 20,000 points. However he said that my interior is still busting chops, and he didn't feel a Fairy Tale vibe at all. I have four rooms with complete/almost complete Fairy Tale-themed series. *shakes fist* I guess I may need to rethink my strategy. I'll try getting all of my exterior parts to be Fairy Tale-themed first and see where that gets me. So I bought a Mermaid door today and my house is going to look like a total mess come tomorrow.
After I'd done everything else, I went to work at the Roost. And as Brewster said, my heart was not in the coffee today. Though I did try some of y'all's suggestions today and kept the milk amount equal with the sugar.
Lolly came in first again, and I must admire her eager support for me as a coffeemaker. I can't forget that she prefers Mocha beans, and I tried the regular amount of milk and two spoonfuls of sugar. She said it wasn't quite how she liked it, so next time I'll try a little milk and one sugar.
Becky was next, and she ordered 'the usual'. I'm sorry, Becky, but I've never made you coffee before so how can you expect me to know what 'the usual' is? I put in some Blue Mountain coffee, with a little milk and one sugar. She said it was all good except for the roast.
Then Wart Jr. came in, and he ordered the usual too. I'm not Brewster, people! I gave him some Kilimanjaro coffee with a little milk and one sugar. He said it was terrible. x) That's what he gets for putting the fate of his taste buds in my hands.
Shrunk was the businessman of the day. He just said he'd 'like some coffee'. Okay. Blend roast, lots of milk, and three sugars. He said his was all wrong, too. At least he realized that he was in such a habit of having Brewster fix his drinks that he forgot to tell me his order.
Brewster gave me some normal coffee beans for my efforts along with an espresso maker.
That leaves just one last duty to be done: the unveiling of the new design sign I just installed by Shyloh's. (Whose house is almost finished~!)

For making a QR design of a real image, I think it turned out pretty well.
Though yesterday wrought a tough loss for the boys in the conference championship and the resulting exemption from the big tournament, we're still proud of our Huskies here in Storrs. So it's all the more appropriate that we celebrate the new sign here that should signify the near-completion of the Basketball Development Center (aka, Shyloh's house; which, as you can see, now has a lovely concrete exterior).
When this idea first popped in my head, I had no idea how I was going to do it since desigining anything in-game is positively difficult. You have to click on each pixel individually to color it, instead of being able to use the D-pad to more steadily hover over pixels like you could in Wild World. Incredibly annoying, by the way. The D-pad doesn't do anything in this game's design mode, so why didn't they incorporate that feature? Nonetheless, after scrupulously searching, I found an amazing site that effectively converts real images to QR codes! It's not entirely perfect, as it usually leaves the images pretty pixelated and blotchy, but with a little artistic work of my own I've been able to turn them into one smooth image. The first one I made was our town flag:

'Artistic work'? What even is that poor, misshapen creature, you ask?
That, I assure you, is Storrs's lovable mascot, Jonathan Husky.

And, yes, he is incredibly derpy. But that's the reason everyone positively loves the little guy.
Anyway, that's enough ramblings for today. I do plan on making a bunch more QR codes in the future. ^^ And hopefully the full tour of Shyloh's house can begin tomorrow!
