I absolutely recommend Tomodachi Life, it's a great 3DS game that is a simulation sort of in the same category as AC/Stardew Valley and sort of not. It's not everyone's cup of tea but I thought it was a blast.

I'd recommend the Story of Season games, especially Trio of Towns for 3DS - they're from the series Stardew Valley is inspired by, which includes some of my all-time favorite games. There's also a new Story of Seasons game coming out in March, although I'd consider waiting on the reviews if you're not already a fan of the series. The 3DS games are much cheaper right now, anyway.

second tomodachi life -- i sank hours into that game, although i still hate that you can't have genuine same-sex couples. miitopia is really good too. it's an RPG(?) style game with miis. and if you're into pokemon, i always enjoyed USUM.

switch
-taiko no tatsujin: a drumming rhythm game. it's pretty easy to learn and fun to play. it's mostly japanese songs and all the characters speak this as well
-kirby star allies: very casual calm platformers. super cute too. be warned the boss rushes are haaaard
-super kirby clash: this one's free and only available on the eshop. extremely multiplayer based, but you can play on your own if you want. easier when you multiplayer though. it's pretty much just a boss fighting game where you team up with three other players or computers and fight bosses. level up, get better gear, etc.
-don't starve: i'm going to assume if you play mostly pc you've maybe heard of this one. it's a survival crafting game kind of like minecraft, but with very different rules. it's really fun though.
-among us: may piss you off if you play with your friends (or even random people) cus folks can be dumb sometimes. you're a crewmate who has to do their task around the map while also trying to figure which player(s) is the imposter who goes around killing everyone.

3ds
-i third the tomodachi island thing! you pretty much have little miis living on an island. they can fall in love, do weird funny stuff, but it's really fun and casual.
-happy home designer. all you have to do is decorate houses and it's very casual and calming. really underrated animal crossing game.

I recommend Fantasy Life for 3DS! It's possibly one of my favourites of all time. It gets a little overwhelming once you first start and then again once you finish the story, since there's so much to do. Loads of different classes, as well.

For 3DS, I definitely recommend Happy Home Designer. All the Animal Crossing cuteness and it focuses on just designing, which can be a great way to express your creativity. I haven't played it since before I started playing ACNH but I remember loving it.
I think the Story of Seasons games should be great - I am debating buying one for the Switch rn - but I will confess that I haven't played them yet -- I only played Harvest Moon back from before the games switch to SoS (to my understanding). But I love that sort of game. Farming, finding love, there is a narrative but a lot of flexibility in how you play the game.
