it's a joke
since it's well... april fool's day.

it's also my dog's 10th birthday today. she's still snoring loudly in my heart.

I'm okay with the harmless, good-natured pranks and silly stuff, but I don't like that a lot of people will use the holiday as an excuse to be a jerk without getting called on it. So like, I think stuff like Pokemon dedicating their social media to Bidoof is cute and fun, but mean-spirited "jokes" about loved ones getting hurt/cheating on a partner/coming out as LGBTQ+/etc., or "jokes" designed specifically to hurt someone, are really super not cool.
I don't usually do anything for the holiday, but a few years ago, I found a set of Blue's Clues sticky notes from my early childhood that I'd never used, right before April Fool's Day. Naturally, I hid the clues all over the house. My parents still haven't found all of them.
Also, today is actually my parents' wedding anniversary! I've heard that they had a very silly, over-the-top wedding, but they did make sure to make it clear to everyone that the marriage part wasn't a joke, ahaha.

As long as nobody's getting hurt, I really don't care about it one way or the other. It's pretty much a non-holiday to me, because the majority of the day is spent forgetting that it even exists.

I had a good prank one time. I got two boxes from the doughnut shop, one full of doughnuts and an empty one, put a veggie tray in the empty one, set them both on my desk at work with the veggie one in position to be first pick, and just watched it unfold. But then to make up for it, I had a box of actual doughnuts next to it! It was great, everyone loved it. That's the only time I've ever participated in the holiday.

I never cared a lot about it. I barely ever got pranked by anyone I personally know and I am extremelly bad in keeping
it cool, so i am very bad in doing pranks >o<

I just got a new phone and tried to prank my boyfriend by telling him I will send it back, because I don't like it
(Backstory: I was searching for a weeks to get a new phone, while he was always against it).. so he was suuuper mad
at me, but I couldn't keep the smile gone for more than 10 seconds and he understood that I pranked him.. 😭

I kinda love it and I'm kinda sad no one really does anything for it in real life (for me at least). I love pranks so much and I love being pranked if it's a good one. Now, there's a difference between a prank and bullying and harassment. A lot of people don't know that difference and end up ruining it for others. It sucks people have to go through these cuz it really could be good fun otherwise. No one should ever be the butt of the joke.

As for me playing pranks, I used to always think up pranks to do for this forum! I thought it was funny. I don't do any other pranks really that are towards one person other than my bf (and that's literally just any day of the year for us lol). Maybe if I can find them, I'll link them here hehe.

I also love it when companies think of clever ones! It's all just so silly and makes me smile.

I don't care to make jokes myself, but I enjoy the creativity people pour into it, especially some youtubers went above and beyond, even spent the last couple of months setting up for it with previous videos.
Especially this one, incredible how far he went to set it up.

I have never really thought much of April Fools day at all. When I was growing up, I was barely cognisant of it except for one or two years when one of our teachers would pretend we had a test that day or this one time in french when we had to make fish and stick them on each other's backs (it's traditional). I sort of wanted to like the day and get into it but it has never really been my thing. Now that I am older, if it weren't for TBT I wouldn't be aware of it at all. No one really makes anything of it and that's not just here, when I lived in France a few years back no one made a big deal of it there either. I have never really thought of it as a thing.

Do other places celebrate it more?

I guess you could say that I am pretty indifferent to it. I am sorry to hear of the bad experiences others have had on this day, makes me more inclined to not like the day.

Ever since I'm not in elementary school anymore, it's not a special day anymore, I used to spend the entire week before organizing pranks to do to my friends and we would have so much fun, when you grow up it's not like that anymore and it's kinda sad
