As long as it isn't a total mess, I don't worry too much about the interiors. I focused more on which villagers I wanted, then grouped those houses in ways that looked nicest together.

That said, I did keep Flora in her starter house, because I didn't much care for the default. I've swapped out her furniture with pastel wood block items and a pink desk/bunk bed, so it has a cute feel to it.

I'm thinking about giving Snake some new furniture, but haven't fully made up my mind. I think some of the imperial furniture would look good.

I really like some of the houses I have and really dislike some others.

I agree with @Imbri that Flora's house isn't great. I've been struggling with re-decorating that one myself. There are just flamingos everywhere :( Buzz has a scenic overlook feel, which is just so strange to me. I guess it's because he's a hawk but, like, vending machines? Gaston's is atrocious - though he is a "villain" in my Disney theme so I'm cool with it.

I really like the interiors of Wendy, Alice, Ursula, Olaf and Aurora's houses. They all match their characters so well and seem somewhat livable. I also like Winnie's, even though it is outside themed, at least it has a tea time vibe.

I had to do some serious work on Hans' interior but it's much better now. I added a Kid's Tent and it replaced the huge bonfire (wat even) so it looks WAY better! Who has a huge bonfire in the middle of their house. I don't even understand.

Overall, do wish they were a bit more realistic. I got lucky that most of my dream villagers had decent houses.

I think Sally has a very cozy house. The colors are warm and inviting, and she has kitchen, sleeping, and sitting areas. Then there's Gruff, who lives in a juke joint and talks about being up in his attic all the time.

I'm not very picky about a villager's interior design, but I really like Charlise's house and wish she wasn't one of my starter villagers so I could see her PROPER house interior. Then again, I don't dislike any of my villager's houses (Poppy's and Henry's are among my favorites)

Villager homes aren’t very important to me but here’s my favorites out of my villagers:

Pics from nookipedia because my villager’s houses are no longer original.

Butch and Flora's homes stand out to me the most on my island for the wrong reasons. The rest of them have decent houses, but those two have gag-homes and it's funny at first, but it gets old quick.

i haven’t seen every interior in the game but i find that with a lot of the ones that i have seen, they look empty or messy, which i don’t like. regardless of what the theme, colour scheme, etc might be, i tend to not like the interiors that appear to be messily thrown together without any sort of concept in mind and/or ones that only have 3-4 furniture items in them with a lot of empty space in-between.

i probably sound a bit finicky but some of the villager interiors really look as if the nintendo devs blindly tossed in a few items and went “😌 this is good.” lol. now, i’m definitely not an interior designer at all but i’m more drawn to interiors that seem. full, in a way? not overcrowded but just,, ones that utilize the space they’ve been given, if that makes sense. and of course, i like ones that are visually appealing as well. 😅

I really adore Lobo's rustic interior. I had him for a short while a long time ago but it's still one of my faves to date, along with Maple's. Image below is not mine though.

I like the ones that are similar to the way I'd decorate my rep's house. So on Coral Key I like the really pink cute houses like Marina's or Cookie's- inside and out. For Lorien I like the natural homes like Poppy's house! I dislike almost all cranky villager homes as well as the office type ones. I want every villager to have a place to sleep and relax- not do more work!

In general, interior design-wise my most recent favorite homes belong to the Sanrio villagers. I just love seeing the newer items being used in their homes. None of the other villagers have them as part of their basic homes so it seems special to me still!
