I was just on wikipedia, and it said the developer of the game was Rare..?

How could that be possible? I thought Nintendo sold rare to microsoft, thats why we don't get the new Banjo game...

I've wondering that since the game was announced.

I'm totally getting it.

Rareware is allowed to make DS games since Microsoft doesn't have a handheld... The Zune doesn't count as one. Although, you can bet that Microsoft will eventually release a handheld and Rare will be completely restrained from developing for Nintendo consoles.

...However, I think Microsoft is also letting Rare develop for the DS because they consider Sony their biggest rival... We haven't seen a PSP Rareware game, have we? I wonder...

Yeah, I was SO HAPPY when I heard about DKR being on the DS!!! This is possibly one of my FAVORITE N64 games. Heck, it's like the first game I've ever owned.

Another question related to Kongs and Rareware...

What are the chances of a Donkey Kong 64 DS???

And what about Donkey Kong 64 for the virtual console?

1st question - Not a lot, but not because of what you think. The game IS possible, but there are plenty of others more deserving of a remake... Perfect Dark, Killer Instinct, etc...

2nd question - There's a good chance of that, and Diddy Kong Racing appearing on the VC. Don't bet on the Banjo series, though.

:(

Well, I hope its on the Virtual Console, that'd be good...but I was really hoping for a DS version...Did Donkey Kong 64 not get good ratings or something? *runs off to check IGN*

Sorry for the double post, but I checked IGN and DK64 got a 9.0!!!!

 Not that I'm too surprised, it deserved that at the very minimum...I've never heard of Killer Instinct or Perfect Dark, so I wouldn't know if this game's better than those...

What do you think the possible chances of a DK64 remake would be if I get a buncha' people to...well...like, write to Nintendo? ( >_< Strange Idea, I know...)

Good thing I got the banjo games... they're really good, sorta like mario but with more characters and notes that open doors, and you have to learn moves.

Scores won't matter in cases like this; it's what games are worthy of a redesign. OoT got a perfect rating on IGN, is it being remade for the DS? It is not, and that's because there isn't anything Nintendo could possibly add to it.

rare can still make games for nintendo for gamehelds. thats it. confuse? go to nintendopower.com and go on the DK board and ask people about it for more information.

;)

Diddy kong racing is gonna be the funnest game until DK king of swing DS comes out! Banjo is in it. So is some tiger named TJ. I playec the game for 64 at my friends house, and there was tons of characters I didn't know. Can anybody name
a few for me, or at least tell me if they came from another game? :gyroidwink:

Banjo and Conker have been removed from the game, didn't you guys know? Microsoft owns those critters now... They've been replaced by Tiny Kong and Daisy Kong.

Agreed. Although the Virtual Boy was a pretty big marketing blunder as well, selling Rareware just because some of Nintendo's employees were too kid-friendly/didn't like Rare's games... Gosh. It's probably all because of Conker's Bad Fur Day... Nintendo made Rareware slap on tons of "ADULTS ONLY" stickers on that game, since the cover of the game pretty much made it look like it was a kiddie game... which it wasn't.

I may have to save up for an Xbox 360 just because they have Rareware now.
Likewise, although it'll take a lot of gigs to save up for a 360, Xbox Live Gold, and some Rareware games...
