Thank you! That means a lot~ ^.^

Chapter 9:

"Wake up, sleep head." teased Walker, who was hovering above me when I opened my eyes.

"Good morning," I smiled, stretching my arms up into the air. Walker grabbed my arms, pinning the to the headboard of the bed as he kissed me. "Well that certainly woke me up!" I chimed, sitting up in bed.

"How'd you sleep?" he asked, moving to sit beside me.

"Great--better than I have in a while." I responded, both of us knowing why.

"Hello?" interrupted a voice, probably from a nurse.

Smacking my lips, I rubbed my eyes and looked at Walker admiringly. Then my eyes widened, as I realized what was happened. "Walker, get up!" I demanded in a hushed tone.

"What? Why?" he asked, confused.

"Just trust me!" I said. He paused for a moment, then nodded his head and got up out of bed and sat in a waiting chair. "Come in!" I chimed when he was seating.

In strolled a nurse, suspiciously looking at the two of us. "What are you doing here?" she asked Walker, squinting her eyes.

"He came to visit." I quickly answered for him, before he could say anything stupid.

"Mhmm..." the nurse mumbled. "Anyways, the doctor has some news to bring to you. It might be best if your... visitor left." she said, staring at Walker.

"Oh, no, it's fine. He can stay." I assured, holding his hand. "He's a good friend," I swiftly added, so she wouldn't get suspicious. And with that, the nurse left, closing the door behind her.

"Really?" Walker snapped immediately, retracting his hand. "I'm a good friend, huh?"

"Walker, I only said that so she wouldn't catch on!"

"I thought you didn't care if people found out."

"I..." I started, knowing he was right. I did say that. Why, I don't know, but regardless, I said it. "Alright, I do care. I don't know what I was thinking. I don't want to get caught, because if I did my parents would probably send me off. And that wouldn't help either one of us, now would it?" I said truthfully.

Walker nodded, but I don't think he was fully convinced. To be honest, I wasn't either. I didn't know if I wanted to be public or not. But one thing was for sure--I didn't want to loose him.

That's when the doctor strolled in, bleach bright coat and all. "Ah, hello Miss Felicity!" greeted the doctor with a weird sweetness in his voice.

"Hi, Dr. Moe..." I warily spoke, returning the strange, but kind favor.

"I have some news for you that might come as a shock..." he began, taking off his glasses. This can't be good, I thought. And apparantly Walker thought so, too, because he squeezed my hand very tightly. "Well, I guess I'll cut right to the chase--we're putting you through surgery."

That was when my world went black for the 2nd time.

When I woke up, I was still in the hospital. This time, no one was poking or prodding me. But I was in a different room--a nicer room, too. The bed was more comfy, there was a flat screen TV, there was even a balcony. This time there was no window, thank God. It seemed like the moment my eyes opened Doctor Moe strolled in with a clip board. "Hello, Miss Felicity. I'm sorry our last meeting was interrupted that way..." he said, apologizing for my blacking out. "I just wanted to have a talk with you to be sure that everything's fine."

"Oh alright." I said.

"Now the surgery is nothing major, you won't feel a thing. You'll be passed out the whole time with a special gas, that is, if you don't black out on your own." he chuckled. "We've already consulted your parents, their on board, too. It is mandatory, after all." he finished. "I know this is a scary process and it's very sudden, but after the surgery tomorrow, you'll be able to leave the next day!" he excitedly added, as if that would make the situation better.

"What are my chances of injury?" I ask quietly.

"Oh, Felicity! Let's not get too ahead of ourselves, now."

"Please give me an answer." I coolly demanded, meaning business.

The doctor gulped and looking down at his clipboard. "The surgery is new, and hasn't been performed very many times. Technically, anything could go wrong. That being said, most of the surgeries that have been conducted were successful." Most. The word repeated in my head. What if I wasn't like most? "Do not fret, though. The more stressed you are, the harder it will be on yourself. To make it easier on you, we're willing to fulfill any reasonable request of yours." he added, emphasizing the word 'reasonable'.

I pondered all the possibilities... but only one seemed desirable. "I want Walker to stay with me tonight." I decided.

The doctor looked at me strangely, as if he though I was joking. After I didn't say anything, he looked around and gave in, saying, "I guess we can arrange that..." And with that, he left, leaving me alone with my thoughts. The worst company I could have, I thought to myself.

OOOOOOOOOOOO stuff is gettin serious! When I first saw the whole dogs and cats seperation thing I thought about the black people slavery and how black and white had to be seperated. I just recently learned about it in school. Also, very good job! I can wait for more :3
