I can see where you're coming from, but the save file is being stored locally on the switch, so if you lose your switch you'll lose your save file either way, regardless of owning the digital or physical copy.

Except when going digital, you can re-download the game at no extra cost to a new console as long as it is linked to your existing Nintendo account.
