We can all probably agree that ACNH takes Animal Crossing to a whole new level, improving upon most aspects of earlier games while introducing new, fun mechanics. The game is something in which countless hours of gameplay can be divulged upon. However, as many new and exciting things it features, there's lots of old and new features that can notably be improved upon, bettering the quality of life within the game.

What do you think could be changed or improved? For me, the biggest one has to be the limit on how many custom designs you can have. As someone who is a big fan of improving the look of my island using designs, I wish the limit was extended to at least around 150, or maybe even higher. The potential the design features have is hindered by these limits the game includes, and there really isn't any reason for it to not have been extended out more, considering how simple of a concept it is.

I don't want Animal Crossing to become a mini-game focused game, but I would love for them to implement more mini-games attributed to certain items.

I'm new to the animal crossing games but as someone who's new to the AC world I wish we could pay bells to make the tools unbreakable it gets tedious having to keep gathering resources to craft tools. also I wish there was a way to get a bigger catalog and diy recipes faster in the game

BRING BACK THE FLEA MARKET. I feel that what I'm about to mention is debatable, but if this game is starting to lean more towards customization and "sandbox" style game play then I would like to have a little more power in my villagers lives. Give us like an option via resident services where like once a week a villager will ask us to help them redesign their home or something. Or bring black the flea market where we could have a day to visit villagers and buy their furniture and stuff from their houses so we can improve the overall quality for ourselves as players. I know many people do not care about their villagers clothing or houses but a lot of people, myself included, do care. I want my villagers to be a bit more customizable in some way so I can really tailor my game to my tastes. I do like and want them to act like individuals still. I don't need complete control. Just a little more say in where Billy Wibbly keeps his fish tank, ya know?

While I'm one of the people who for the most part doesn't care where Bill Wibbly puts his fish tank, I agree with you that the emphasis on customization over villagers, while keeping a lot of the game mechanics the way they were when villagers were the main emphasis, is awkward. Nintendo seems to be trying to balance both, but maybe the balance isn't a good one as you're left with frustrating limitations on both, that annoy people who preferred the villager emphasis (mediocre dialogue, fewer options to interact with them than NL, friendship doesn't feel earned) and those who embrace the customization emphasis (lack of furniture, can't customize villagers' homes well, non-streamlined terraforming process). And it's the combination of both that draws people to AC over other sims, isn't it? Jack of both trades, master of neither is kinda what's going on here.

- tools that don’t break would be lovely. i’m so tired of having to replace them throughout the day ;-;

- i’d love more furniture! the customization options and some of the new stuff are so cool but i’d love for sets to make a comeback ;;

- bring back hybrid island. why put it in the game if you’re just gonna take it away?

I hope some of the old furniture sets come back, like the sloppy/princess/mermaid series. Or maybe some brand new sets! Also tools that don't break!

We need more furniture. We need all of the old furniture from the past games back, and really PC's furniture would enhance town decorating by so much our minds would be blown, so we need those, too. I don't know if Nintendo would do that, but if they did that NH would turn into a 10/10 game for me.

Tool durability bar! I saw this on Reddit a month ago and I cannot stress enough how much I NEED this.

The concept reminds me of a game I used to play called Glitch. What I would LOVE as well is if they had a repair tool we could carry as I hate having to break my tools and remake them again. It's so archaic :rolleyes:

I had this discussion in another thread the other day, but I wish Cranky and Snooty were how they used to be. I miss the gossip queens. Cranky isn't even accurate, they're basically new normal types with low voices. Normal is my least favorite of all types 👀

Someone suggested renaming these two types and I loved their ideas! 'Mature' for Cranky, and 'Classy' for Snooty.

We need windmills back!!
Also more customisation with crafted items, more furniture in general & MORE custom design slots, there's no need for a cap so little when the designs you can put out on an island now can do so much more!
Bring back hybrid islands, and maybe even add more hybrid colours. Purple cosmos pls ;~;
I don't mind tools breaking, but gold tools breaking? That needs to stop!!
ALSO BRING BACK THE TRIPLE SHOT GOLDEN SLINGSHOT!
One more thing, we need to be able to put rugs outside 🥺🥺

I would like my right joystick to be able to move the camera around, just like how it is when I'm inside of my house.

if they could somehow remove the repetition from npcs, like blathers telling us about the stamp rally every single day or wilson telling us that having a dodo open for anybody could lead to strangers coming in, and allow for flowers and trees to stack, it would improve my game play so much.

That's what customization kits are for. They can repair your tools and "reset" them back to how they were when you first made them.

- Unbreakable tools/raising tool durability

- More villager dialogue/change to the way their dialogue works so they don't mention who visited/what you or others have been doing that often

- An indication of where you are terraforming. Just a mark like when you put down buildings would help. I would be fine if I even needed to hold a button to see it.

- More furniture. Especially sets that were available since the beginning.

- Changing the incline/bridge limit to 16 total, instead of 8 each

- A way to know which NPCs are visiting without having to look all over your island.

I personally would prefer seeing visible wear on the tools and icons. The bars are really out of place in my opinion. The axe broke in all past AC games, and it would chip and crack to show how close it was to breaking.

quality of life and item quantity.

i randomly loaded up pocket camp the other day for the first time in 1.5 YEARS and truly i cannot stress how much better designed the UI is. all gameplay is intuitive, instantly rewarding and rarely feels tedious, even tho the entirety of the game is going around the same spaces and talking with villagers the exact same way. bc the dialogue is concise and to the point, you accomplish your goals with minimal delay or frustration.

NH is almost entirely the opposite in many realms: isabelle's announcements, lack of multi-item crafting, the dodo dialogue, the changing room, repeat villager dialogue, inability to stack fish or bugs, etc etc. all these things are barriers to easy enjoyment of the game and they are some of the most prominent repeated actions, because there is little in the way of mini games or other exploring to do. the vastness of the game feels untapped and feels like it could be easily fixed with a little care - which makes it all the more frustrating.

& like everyone else has said - the lack of furniture items is a massive massive let down, tbh. after the vastness of NL and PC, this really does feel like a waste of the potential of the switch console, and just doesn't make sense when nintento has acknowledged so heavily that unique furniture items is the driving point of SO MANY of AC users. like, that's literally what welcome amiibo was about and what PC was made for. the untapped potential creativity of all of AC players is so sad to me, the things we could do and see with all the PC furniture in NH?? would be beyond belief.

short story: i came into NH thinking it would build on everything that came before it, only to realize it tried to wipe the slate and start all over for some reason.
