Smash Bros DLC Fighters Ideas?

Yeah, I have a feeling his final smash would be an execution. Maybe his other moves could be closely linked to executions that happen throughout the series as well?
I feel like Mukuro's execution via spears could make for a perfect forward smash, for instance.

That would be so cool~ I need Sakurai to make this happen~

Puyo-Puyo girl I can't imagine as a fighter or like a moveset being formed. Yes its been done before, but still this just would feel like a strange choice. Puyo Puyo doesn't have the same fame or ring as the other franchises. Dragon quest was really stretching and catering to japanese fans, so I don't see them really doing that again. I think any new series they go into is going to be widely acclaimed in both audiences, or maybe looking towards the European fans.

Yeah I suppose so but I don't think that's necessarily a reason to scrap the idea. The franchise seems to have rebooted in the west and there's potential for it to grow. I think it'd work.

And yes there is a lot of material to make a moveset, Arle originates from a RPG game and they could easily pull from that too.

I'd love a Super Monkey Ball rep but that's the one I have trouble with imagining a moveset for. I'm a fan of the series but I don't think that it's likely to happen. Also the series is pretty much dead right now and we haven't heard anything about it in a looong time. Sure Banjo Kazooie is also very dead but at least it still had hype surrounding it. Monkey Ball is dead in games and there is also not really a (significant) fanbase.

They gonna add that one DLC fighter nobody saw coming or thought that it could be happening...

Waluigi.

Jokes beside, I'm still hoping for Crash, otherwise I just hope they are not gonna add yet another
FE character or someone like that, as I don't care at all for such characters and we also already
have enough of them. Someone like Spyro or Bandana Dee would be interesting too.

Dark Souls knight
Okami
Cuphead
a Hunter from Monster Hunter
and that's it only dlc fighters l can think of for right now.

All I hope is that Sans not gonna be one of the remained DLC fighters. I hate Undertale and I'm
so annoyed by that freaking overrated skeleton guy, I would even pick Steve from Minecraft over
Sans if I had to. Otherwise, it would be nice if either Rayman, Spyro or Crash made it into Smash.
Or maybe another Sonic character, like Rouge the Bat, but I guess she doesn't have such big
chances getting into it. Shantae as a fighter would be also a nice addition in my opinion.

I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again. For the love of jahookie, give us more Xenoblade and Kid Icarus characters! We have like, what? Pit, Dark Pit (who is basically just a Pit clone), and Palutena from Kid Icarus and that’s it? What about Viridi from Kid Icarus: Uprising, or Medusa, or even Hades himself? Heck, even Amazon Pandora could be a good addition if done right.

As for more Xenoblade characters, I think this goes without saying. Shulk is literally the only rep still I’m pretty sure for the series in Smash. Give us Reyn, or Dunban, or Riki. I would love to see Riki as a puffball smasher like Kirby in the game. Or give us Elma from Xenoblade Chronicles X, or even Pyra or Mythra from Xenoblade Chronicles 2. Just please, give us someone other than Shulk... Xenoblade has garnered more respect as a Nintendo franchise over the past decade and thus deserves more characters.

And that’s the tea. :)

It has already been said that no one from a first party Nintendo series that already has a representative is going to be added as part of the DLC, so take that into account with the Nintendo characters on my list, but I'm just going to say them anyway. I guess it's more of a wishlist for future games, or if we got a Nintendocentric second season pass of DLC.

What I'd Like, But Won't Happen

Shantae: My top pick for DLC, if it were at all possible, would be Shantae. While her games are not a Nintendo franchise, they have been on Nintendo consoles since the original game was released back on the Game Boy Color. She has a ton of moveset potential between her hair attacks, pirate-themed attacks from Pirate's Curse, and transformations. She also has taunts covered via her various dances. She would be an awesome addition to Smash Bros.

Unfotunately, she won't be added in this game, if ever. Her stock has definitely gone up in recent years. Her series has expanded past Nintendo consoles, onto other platforms, gaining more attention and popularity. She is apparently a sort of mascot of the eShop. She even made it into Super Smash Bros. Ultimate as a Spirit alongside Risky Boots. That last bit, however, is her downfall, as since she's a Spirit she is almost definitely not going to be added now. Maybe she has a chance in the next game. I hope so, anyway.

Scorpion or Sub-Zero (from Mortal Kombat): I've been a fan of Mortal Kombat since I was a child, and considering the fact that we have Ryu and Ken from Street Fighter in Super Smash Bros. these days, it seems like we also ought to have a representative from Mortal Kombat in there. Not only because it was such a cultural phenomenon when it first debuted, not only because Scorpion and Sub-Zero are iconic characters, but also because Mortal Kombat made its return to a Nintendo console with the port of Mortal Kombat 11 for the first time since Mortal Kombat Armageddon back in 2007. Considering Super Smash Bros. can serve as advertisement for things, why not advertise the new game that just released on your console?

Scorpion is the easy pick since he's the mascot of the series as well as Netherrealm Studios, and is probably the more famous and popular of the two. The only issue is figuring out a Final Smash for him that isn't a Fatality. That might be part of why no Mortal Kombat representatives have made it in and might never do so, aside from Mortal Kombat not being as big in Japan, but I feel like it's worth a shot.

Edelgard (from Fire Emblem: Three Houses): I know people will roll their eyes at another Fire Emblem character, but I still would want her added anyway. She would finally be a Fire Emblem representative in Super Smash Bros. that would use an axe instead of a sword, and she's from the newest game. Fire Emblem characters are added to Super Smash Bros. to advertise the most recent releases in the series at the time of the Smash Bros. game in question, so this case would be no different. Part of me also just wants her in because Three Houses is so much better than anything else that has come out of the Fire Emblem series in the past ten years. It's a shame they added Chrom in order to fulfill a dumb meme that they forced themselves into fulfilling later and she's definitely not making it in now.

In all likelihood though, if they did add a Three Houses character (which again, they won't), it would probably end up being Byleth so as not to seem biased to Edelgard over Claude and Dimitri, and because Byleth would probably be easier to do considering they have a signature sword weapon. I wouldn't mind this addition since, again, Three Houses deserves the recognition of a roster spot in my opinion, but I could only pray that they would opt for an axe or lance or just...anything but a sword. If it has to be a sword, at least let it transform into a whip sword to change it up a bit like it can in the cutscenes of the game. Ideally whether it was Edelgard or Byleth, their moveset would reflect the customization you can utilize when leveling your characters so that they could be more of a Robin or Hero sort of character.

Bandana Dee (from Kirby): I'm not really a Kirby person and don't personally care about Bandana Dee, but I've seen a lot of people wanting his addition for years so I'd say go for it. But since he's a Spirit and because of the no-first-party thing, yeah, not happening this go around.

Dixie Kong (from Donkey Kong): More Donkey Kong rep, another female character. Why not, eh? Same thing though, no first parties in the DLC.

Kumatora or Duster (from Mother 3): I'd like more representatives from the Mother/EarthBound series, and it seems like they'd make the most sense. Kumatora could use PSI attacks that Lucas doesn't use, and/or with slight variation. Meanwhile, Duster has his Thief Tools and kicking, though he also has the bum leg that they talk about in the game so that would probably be difficult to translate into a fighter in Super Smash Bros. Another instance of characters that won't be added to this game, but it would be nice.

More Kid Icarus Characters: As you can guess, I'm not really interested in Kid Icarus personally. That said, a friend of mine is really into it and from what I've looked at of some of the other characters like Hades and Viridi it seems like you might as well. Plus, hey, Sakurai developed Kid Icarus: Uprising.

Decidueye, Sceptile, or Grookey's Final Form: This is just a personal thing, but the Grass-type is one of my favorites in Pok?mon and it just sort of bugs me that it's the only of the starter trio of Grass, Fire, and Water that doesn't have a fully-evolved representative available in Super Smash Bros. It feels like they should have given us Sceptile back on the 3DS/Wii U game to patch up that issue, especially since its Final Smash would be easy to conceptualize given its Mega Evolution. I'm also disappointed that Incineroar was chosen over Decidueye for this reason for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. I can understand why, Decidueye was already in Pokken Tournament, but Grass just feels underrepresented when we only get Ivysaur.

---

Other than all that, not really sure. I've been pretty strictly Nintendo for a few years since I kind of lost interest in bothering with the other consoles for the most part. It seemed like a big money sink and Nintendo series like Pok?mon, Animal Crossing, and Fire Emblem are what keep me playing video games in general.

I'm open to pretty much anything, though I have to say I'm very uninterested in Sora.
Kingdom Hearts annoys me on its premise of just mashing two popular franchises together because with an apparently ridiculous, convoluted plot (even fans seem to think it's ridiculous, which is part of what I'm basing this on) and that it is actually working by translating to high sales and a big fanbase. Never been a Disney fan and I'm not on board with their media monopoly, and growing up on the Internet in the early 2000s kind of killed any interest I might have had in Final Fantasy.
Not to ruffle any feathers with Kingdom Hearts fans, it's just very much not my thing by any stretch of the imagination. I wouldn't be torn up if he was added, I'd just prefer practically anyone else. So, I guess how non-Fire Emblem fans feel. If he does end up being added, I hope he's good for everyone that is a fan and that they enjoy it though.

---

Anyway...

There seem to be rumblings of
Doom Slayer and a Monster Hunter representative with male and female options ala Robin and Corrin
being possible DLC. I'm cool with both of those if that's what ends up happening. That second one would also make a certain something found in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate make more sense.

This is really just wishful thinking more than anything, but I'd legit lose my **** if Monokuma from Danganronpa was revealed. It's most likely not happening, since Danganronpa is definitely more obscure and not as relevant to gaming as the other DLC picks so far have been, but Joker's inclusion (being a character mostly associated with Sony since all the main series Persona games have been Sony exclusive, which is similar to how Danganronpa has only ever gotten releases on Sony platforms and PC) gave me hope, and Banjo and Kazooie's inclusion (which proves that even a dead franchise can get a DLC rep) gave me even more hope, plus I'm not sure how true this is but apparently Sakurai is a fan of the Danganronpa games. So maybe, just maybe it can happen if the stars align right.

To add to this, I also thought of a few other characters I'd love to see.

First off, my man Phoenix Wright from Ace Attorney. Another visual novel character, but one that'd be a bit more realistically possible than Monokuma at least. Phoenix I imagine would be a very odd character to incorporate, at least moveset wise, but Marvel vs. Capcom has shown us that it's possible. Plus, Sakurai came up with a moveset for Wii Fit Trainer of all characters, so why not? Not to mention, Ace Attorney has a long history of appearing on Nintendo consoles, being a pretty much Nintendo exclusive series until a few years ago.

Speaking of Capcom characters, Dante from the Devil May Cry series™. Bayonetta's already in the game, but Devil May Cry was a huge inspiration in the development of that. They could easily make a cool and interesting moveset for Dante, and Devil May Cry V came out earlier this year and was a huge hit, so it'd be the perfect time to add him into Smash imo. Not to mention Devil May Cry 1 is on the Switch now, and the series creator said he would rather a DMC game be on Switch before Dante were to get into Smash, so the criteria there has been met already. I could honestly see Dante having a better chance of getting in than Phoenix Wright, and I'd also be very satisfied with Dante.

Another action game character that would be cool is Travis Touchdown from No More Heroes. No More Heroes, much like Ace Attorney, has a history of being Nintendo exclusive. The only thing about Travis is that he's more obscure than someone like Phoenix Wright or Dante, but Travis would also be great as he could promote the upcoming No More Heroes 3. If Dante or Travis got in though I'd be very happy, as they're both action game characters so the moveset potential there is top notch.

Yet another action game character, technically, that I'd love to see is Kazuma Kiryu from the Yakuza series. Yakuza in general is a series I've always had an interest in, and Kiryu would fit right into Smash. Again, it'd be so easy to make a moveset for him, and he's such a cool character. Admittedly, Yakuza doesn't have much of a history with Nintendo except for a Japan only HD rerelease of Yakuza 1 and 2 for the Wii U, and Yakuza is also a Sega-owned series like Persona (Atlus is owned by Sega) and idk if Nintendo would be okay with one company having two DLC reps, nor if Sega would want that. Still, I'd love to see Kiryu in Smash.

One extremely popular pick that I'd absolutely love is Shantae. The only thing is that she's a spirit, and we still don't completely know if spirits deconfirm characters or not, and Shovel Knight is an Assist Trophy, who seems like he'd be the prime indie rep. However, I'm still holding out for Shantae simply because she's been around for a lot longer than Shovel Knight and...well, if any indie rep were to get in at this point it'd have to be her.

I know that was a lengthy post but it was fun to write. I may do another one in the future simply because there's a lot of characters I'd love to see in Ultimate.

Rythm Heaven please! Transforming between karate joe, wrestler, the barista, monkeys, etc.

I DON’T want Crash Bandicoot. I don’t know why but I just don’t like him as a Smash character or his games either bEcAuse What We rEallY wanT iS saNDs UndErTalE foR smAsh AmIriTe? I’ve heard of Sans for smash but as much as I like Sans and Undertale he’s a little overrated, but I’d LOVE it if he were in smash but I feel like a lot of people don’t like him and I feel like there’s a possible but slim chance for Sans . BUT as ridiculous as it sounds I am desperate for Steve from Minecraft to become a smash DLC because I think he would have a really good move set as well as looking unique. I would buy the Steve DLC.

OK that’s understandable, but it would be hilarious to have him in smash because of the memes.

Cmon do it for the memes

Hatsune Miku 100%.
Also considering the recent leaks Tracer would be very interesting and new to Smash!
I'd also really like Shantae juste because of how cute she is!
