Do flowers rot if they are left in your cupboard or pockets?

As the title asks,

If i pick up my hybrid flowers and put them in my cupboard until i have enough to set them up how I want them, will they rot? if so how long does it take before they do? D: or do they stay in good condition the whole time they are not planted?
