Do ladders break?

I haven't had my vaulting pole or ladder break...yet, someone I swear someone I know said their vaulting pole broke, but everywhere I am reading says they don't.

I found out only today that slingshots actually break as well, been playing non-stop since release and this is the first one I actually had break!

Haven't had pole or latter break on me yet though.
