Hi everyone, I’ve been trying to get back into NH and one of my favorite things to do in the game was to trade. I primarily traded on here, but I also used Nookazon a bit and stopped after an unpleasant experience. Since almost a year has passed, I decided to check out my old account on Nookazon and explore the site some to see if I wanted to use it again... only to find out that all 30+ positive reviews on my account had been removed? I’m not sure why, everything was perfectly in order and I had nearly a perfect review score when I last logged in. Did they wipe reviews for older or inactive accounts or something?

Since I would have to start from scratch and rebuild my reputation as a seller, I wanted to ask you guys if you still use Nookazon, and if the user experience on the site has improved from a year ago. Should I just stick to TBT, or is the site worth another try? Thanks for any feedback! :)

I have recently been using Nookazon. I had a similar situation where my account was completely gone and all of my reviews. I had to restart an account. Maybe something is going on with the site. My experiences on there (before and since) have been okay. Nothing as friendly as using TBT, but I can find some things when I need them. Seems like people like to over price things on there though, which always make it a last spot to check for me.

Well I had some bad experiences on that site and people still use it but still you have to becareful because there are scammers still on there.
Now for me I have trust issues when trading. I've gotten scammed so many times. Whats annoying is that the person you're trading with may seem nice, but as soon when they tell you to drop your item first, you know thats a huge red flag. If they try to pressure you drop it first, tell them no and ask them to drop the item you are trading with them first. I also recommend doing the trading on your own island, instead of their island, because a lot of times people can be really sneaky of how they do trades in a bad way. Like someone may tell you to follow them when they claim they have the item for you and then you get kicked out and you lose your item that you dropped, because they told you too.

A real trade is suppose to be that the seller and buyer must drop their items at the same time in order to make sure they are getting what they want. If someone you're trading with doesn't want to drop the item you want or if they are telling to drop the item that they want, be very careful, because scammers are known to do this a lot of times whenever they invite you to their island. So I would be safe and doing it on your own island. You can tell the person who you are trading with that you want them to come to your island, but if they somehow "pressure" you to come to theirs then its a sign they maybe are trying to scam you or trying to guilt trip you.

So thats all I have I to say on how not to get scammed. Trust me these scammers are starting to get smart and we need to be very cautious whenever we trade with them. A good way to make sure you're not going to get scammed is check the sellers rating to make sure they don't have any negative reviews, of course if someone uses like fake accounts to make it seem like they are legit then you can tell that something is off. So I say trade with people who have the highest rating and read the reviews of people who traded with them. I know its a lot to say, but believe me I've gone through my experience so I am telling this to people who don't want to be scammed. I know there is people who say they are "never scammed" but its best not to let your guard down. Proceed with caution whenever you trade with others.

I was one of those people who used to say "Well I never got scammed" but then I was foolish to let my guard down and someone who I thought was being nice scammed me. Since then I learned to be a lot more careful with others. Sometimes being "too nice" can be a problem. I found that out the hard way.

I never used Nookazon. I’ve heard too many horror stories about it to try it. I haven’t needed anything lately, but prefer trading here because I am friends with a lot of people here and am comfortable with those who I am not friends with yet as well. It took me awhile to get to this point. I also like the tbt system better than the nmt or buying with igb since I don’t sell turnips and don’t play enough to get a lot of NMts. Even if I had reason to trade on Nookazon, I’d still try to find an excuse to not use it.

I don't know what would cause all your reviews to vanish, it sounds like a technical problem or maybe you could contact a moderator?

I don't use Nookazon just because I find trading here a lot easier especially with the big shops where people have completed their catalog or are a material wizard god.

I use it occasionally, but bad experiences there are what led me to TBT. Like Sasey said, a lot of things, especially villagers, are overpriced on Nookazon, and when it's offers, sellers can be very picky. People also like to offer stuff way less than what the price of your item is, such as people constantly offering a single orderable item for my Gullivarr/Celeste/Seasonal item. I like to browse as it helps me get rid of unwanted stuff and occasionally a good deal, but honestly, if I wasn't just starting out again and need a bunch of stuff, I'd drop Nookazon completely and just use TBT.

I also find how they bombard you with ads pretty annoying. I understand they need their money, but at least on mobile, I always end up clicking on the ads because they pop up right as I'm trying to look at something...or for some reason the site glitches out and trying to navigate ANYWHERE makes me hit the ad. It's just a frustrating experience and I don't really know why I use it. I'm trying to gradually shift back over to TBT again.

I don't use it that much. For two reasons:
1: because like other people said, there's scammers that try to steal what you drop and not give anything in return. I've never been scammed but I have heard from people who have, and it's not fun.
2: because of the ads. There are too many ads. I get companies need money but sometimes it basically covers the screen with them.

I think TBT is best. I've used the Nookazon site, and while I haven't personally had a bad experience on there, I think TBT is more reasonably priced and safer.

I do like hopping on the Nookazon Discord if there's something I want to find quickly like flowers. I give my moving villagers away for free, and I've also found the Nookazon Discord is the quickest place to find new homes for them.

Thanks for the information, everyone! I think I’ll stick to TBT for now, since I’ve always preferred it here and all of my trading feedback is intact. I could try to contact a moderator about my Nookazon feedback, but I have no idea when it was all deleted and I don’t think it’s worth bothering them over.

A bit unrelated, but has anyone seen ads for Nookazon on other sites? I saw one the other day on chickensmoothie and was really weirded out. They seem to be making decent money from the site I guess.

Personally I haven’t had any bad experiences on nookazon and I have over 200 reviews on there. Maybe I just got lucky? Everyone I’ve met has been super nice and they usually bring wrapped gifts. Some of the prices are outrageous but I don’t buy villagers so I normally don’t have to deal with that.

I still use it all the time. I have never had a bad time either. Mainly , if I don’t want to waste my tbt, I try to get the items in Nookazon for bells or nook miles. I would rather spend that instead of tbt.

I trade here, Nookazon and on Reddit, and I have never been scammed before. I think there are certain steps you can take to avoid being scammed. Just don’t trade with people who have weird reviews, low reviews, no reviews. Avoid weird trading posts also, like new villagers for 1 NMT, or other odd trades like that.

I do and recently got the rainbow badge. It's easy to trade and sell stuff but everything is like ridiculously expensive so I usually give things away for free

i have! it’s been a while but i had a nookazon ad pop up in my instagram feed once, which caught me off guard lol. ironically, i’ve also seen one of their ads while browsing around on here.

Yes, lots of people still use Nookazon. I've traded 100's of times and never had a bad experience.

Any other sites like Nookazon that any of you use? I know the database websites and Reddit, but any others?

I actually haven’t. I’ve only seen people talking about it on sites like Reddit and Facebook. I think it’s very common for people to have bad experiences on Nookazon. You always hear the bad experiences over the good ones, as you’re more likely to leave a review for a poor experience. It doesn’t go for everyone, but some.

Honestly I'd stick to TBT for trading. I haven't used anything else for 6 months+. The prices for things are much more reasonable and the users are much more friendly and I've never had a bad trade here. It's more of a community that has a trading hub, than just a trading place alone. Nookazon is something I refuse to use nowadays. I'd prefer either Facebook groups, Discord, or TBT for trading. Nookazon was always overpriced and kind of scammy in my opinion. Never had a good experience there if I'm honest!

I've used it a lot for a while. In terms of scammers, I would recommend only trading with people that have a good amount of stars/reviews, I've never had any bad experiences in the past year that way.

However, since I've collected every DIY & most catalog items, I rarely use it anymore lately

I use it for villagers since the forums are quite inactive on that part and I'm impatient. I remember my last "transaction" was me buying Jambette and the person was really nice! But since I'm very dumb I completely forgot to drop the bells. I quickly came back and profusely apologized but for some reason after collecting the bells the game errored and they went silent for about 30 minutes only to tell me that I could keep jambette and forget the bells lol.
I've only had good experiences though! I try to rely on the star ratings but most of the time I pick the person who answers first.
But for items I only use this forum, i'm sure to always have a nice experience here!

I've used Nookazon quite a lot for when I do villager trades or am after a certain item. It's been ages since I've been on it but the site is good if you're after an item quickly. The only downside is as people have said there is a lot of scammers and also the prices which can be ridiculous. Although I have nearly been scammed I was able to avoid it and haven't been properly scammed yet.

Your best bet is to always trade with people that have good reviews.
If someone is trading something you've listed, make sure they fulfill their part of the trade first or give half.

This is what happened to me when I was giving away a villager, the person wanted to give less than half but I insisted on half. I've got 100+ 5 star reviews so it wasn't like I'd be scamming them, but they blocked me so bullet dodged. Always be cautious, when you're careful the trading experience is fun. :)
