Do you behave passive aggressively towards your villagers?

I want to know if I'm alone on this one.

I had this snooty dog in my village before. I really didn't appreciate his uppity attitude so I tried all of the usual things to get him to leave (ignoring him, recommending he leave the village, etc). But I also did things like leaving a dog bowl outside his house to remind him that no matter what kind of fancy things he owned, he'd ALWAYS be a dog. I know this probably didn't hurt his feelings but I feel like I one-upped him.

Was this on New Horizons? I find that the snooty villagers on this game aren't as rude as they are in the GameCube version. I can't imagine even a snooty villager would say anything considered rude enough to justify passive aggressive behaviors. I think even aggressive behaviors towards pixels is a little weird in itself, but that's just me. I learned, though, that sometimes people are more passionate about game.

They were brutal but I took it all with a smile (mostly because that's all my in game character does)

hmm i don't know if i've behaved passive aggressively towards them, per se, but i've definitely had villagers i just didn't like for whatever reason and i'd avoid them or react negatively to them wherever i could (which unfortunately isn't often...). new horizons villagers are so forgiving though, i feel like it's easier to let ww+nl villagers know you hate them haha

⁉️ 😭

I don’t really believe that being mean to a villager has any effect on them asking to move out. Even if it did, I’m honestly too sensitive to ever be mean to my villagers lol, even if I’m not a big fan of them. I know they don’t actually have feelings and they aren’t sentient beings, but still.. seeing them walk around so sad makes me sad, especially if it’s because of something I did. ;u;

Though, when I time travel to try to get a villager to move out and everyone but the villager(s) I want out has the thought bubble, sometimes after a while I get a little frustrated and give them one (1) whack with my net…….. :c

not really? when i had villagers fill up the empty plots and i wasn’t too fond of them, i just ignored them or sparingly interacted with them. i’ll wait until they ask me to move off of the island instead of trying to speedrun kicking them off 🫂

when i come across a campsite villager i would rather have instead, i will quit the game until it lands on the one i don’t mind leaving haha

Nope! I don't really enjoy being unkind, even to pixel creatures. I've definitely had villagers I disliked and wanted to move out, but I was still polite to them in-game. I just talk to them and fulfill their requests, then smile and wave when they eventually decide they're ready to move on. They don't have to know that they weren't my favorite.

No. One thing I hate the most is passive aggression. Sure it’s just a game and the characters are just pixels, but that gives me no reason to be passive aggressive. Sure some things they do may annoy me, but no reason still.

I acted weird in New Leaf over one villager I didn't like but I've changed and can't imagine myself doing that now.

I subconsciously start to ignore the villagers I don't want. Vice versa, I also prioritize visiting my favorites.
