Do you like the New Horizons theme?

What do you think of this theme? Like it? Hate it? I actually quite like it - with the instrumentation and chord choices it sounds like a mix of the New Leaf and Wild World themes in my opinion. I started getting especially excited towards the end of the theme when the accordion thing came in as this sounded especially like Wild World and that theme is my favourite thing ever!

I was gonna come in here and say the same thing, that it sounds influenced by both NL and WW! I love it so much, it?s so comforting and soft like the other themes but now has a more ?full? sound if that makes sense?
I also especially love K.K.?s live version of it (◡‿◡✿)

Yeah that's a good way to describe it! It has a much richer sound than New Leaf but it is still very comforting and relaxing

Ughhhh I liked the new leaf better. I feel like Horizons is too happy? I don’t know the new leaf was a bit happy and sad at the same time, same with wild world. They kind of both kind of gave me a nostalgic/wistful feeling. I’m planning on making my town a bit darker and gothic, so I don’t think it goes well at all with such happy music.

It's not a bad song at all, but the brass instrument just doesn't appeal to me. It feels a bit grating, especially if I were to listen to it on loop. WW will always be the ideal theme!

I would probably rank the themes like:
1. Wild World
2. Gamecube
3. New Horizons
4. New Leaf

And New Horizons isn't third because it's bad, it's third because the other two are just SO amazing!

I really dig it. Definitely feels like an Animal Crossing theme, but has that island aesthetic in there.

The uptick in recording quality is also really noticeable. If it's indicative of the rest of the tracks, this might be the first AC soundtrack I can listen to in other contexts without needing to seek out fan-covers.

I don’t know, to me it’s not as upbeat, so it kind of sounds happy and sad at the same time to me. Somber like. The new horizons just sounds happy.

I've never heard any AC music that I didn't like.

It goes with the game so well, no matter what you're doing. Fishing, or just walking around.

It's very relaxing.
I can't headbang to it, but that's ok.

I agree. Though, I don?t find it grating, I just feel like a woodwind instrument would've been more fitting for an island theme.
I remember when ACWW was coming out, I?d watch the trailer over and over because I loved how soothing the theme was.

I love it even more because it reminds me of the first time I saw the E3 trailer, so it makes me kinda nostalgic...?
It's so different yet so similar to the past themes, I really enjoy it.

It's ok in my opinion. I usually prefer the more graceful, and less upbeat music for the theme such as New Leaf, but I can see why this one is more upbeat. With New Horizons being a topical island theme, people usually associate tropical and islands with upbeat music, which is probably why the theme is very uplifting and not as downbeat as the previous animal crossing themes. In my opinion, it would be nice if they added some steel drum to the theme to make it even sound more tropical and exotic, and because the steel drum was used a lot in New Leaf music.

One more thought, I am not sure if this is just me or does some of the parts of the New Horizons music remind you of other animal crossing music? For some reason I keep thinking some parts sounds like the Wild World theme (let me know if this is just me though lol ).

Yes there are little sections at the end of theme that sound a lot like the Wild World theme to me!

i honestly am a big fan of the melody this time around. at first i thought it didn't sound quite "animal crossing" enough but honestly, this just makes me excited to hear what new songs and remixes we may get this time around.
