Do you think acnh will get an update nexy month?

Honestly, I've given up on ACNH getting any big updates. Whilst I'd definitely love to see them, it looks like most of the updates are just seasonal or holiday things. I also fear that if NH does get another update, it'll end up being paid DLC or something.

i've also essentially given up on there being any substantial update, especially any time soon. if there is one, it'll either be in mid-november/early-december, around the anniversary or at next year's E3. since the datamine revealed that there are unmentioned halloween items (and additional seasonal tab items, i believe?) already in the game, i get the funny feeling they'll fob us off with those as their own "update".

There will always be small, seasonal updates (new furniture, DIYs, clothing, hairstyles, etc). 3 new Halloween items/DIYs will be added to the ACNH Spooky series.

Unfortunately, there probably won't be any large game-changing updates anytime this year. Every update, I hope that Brewster and "The Roost" is added. That hasn't happened and the longer it goes, the more unlikely he will be added.

It would be nice but I don’t see it happening. Since they added Halloween items already I don’t see an update coming until November.

I agree with others where as much as I would love an update the more time that passes that we do not get one, the more my hope diminishes that we will actually get something major. That being said, if there were to be a major update in the works I feel it'll be announced in the next few months. Hoping it's not a paid DLC if it occurs (it would be kinda scummy of Nintendo if it were)

The short answer is no. I don’t see there being a major update in the near future. I was really hoping Tortimer Island would return. I thought the addition of this feature was inevitable with the airport, but apparently not. There is so much potential with Tortimer Island, and it would bring lots of people back to playing New Horizons regularly. I’m not seeing any major updates in the near future, though.

I hate to admit it but I've just accepted that we aren't going to get anything worthwhile for an update. Nintendo and NH just struck gold with their timing of NH's release. Any other time I feel like the majority of us wouldn't had been so accepting of its barebone state on launch.

I remember when a game called Phantasy Star Online 2 was supposed to come overseas. Every year Sega gave the same promise they hadn't forgotten us, but after a while I just gave up hope of it coming overseas. Now almost 10 years later they're trying to finally bring it overseas to the Switch apparently lol.

Well, they still have to “unlock” the Halloween items on October 1, when they become available, even though they aren’t really locked (basically, a Twitter announcement saying new Halloween content is available). Theoretically, it is possible they may introduce more content for October via a real update on top of those new items already in the last update. It is part of a theory that the Halloween items were released early so that they could work on something larger to release this fall.

I don’t know how much credence to give to this, but it is therefore possible we could get something as early as late September. That said, these theories about the “next big update” have been around all year to no avail, so take it with a grain of salt.

Same. It’s really sad. In spite how long it took, if they gave us a big update with a lot of the stuff everyone wants (they don’t need to give us everything but they do need to do better than what they’ve given us so far), that could not only get me back to playing but consider buying the next AC, but because of how this is handled I may never spend as much time as I used to with the game and definitely won’t buy the new game assuming they will think the way they handle NH is “perfect” model for how they handle the next one.

On the bright side for me and not for them, I can focus on other games I want to get and play and I can’t do both. I can only play one game at a time.

I believe an update is coming at some point.
But I believe it will be when they are ready to release it.
And I haven't the first clue when it will be.

But I don't think this month.
Maybe November time.

I have lost all hope for a big update. If there is going to be one, I doubt it will be anytime soon. I'm kinda numb to it at this point. I just continue playing the game, and if something happens then that will be awesome. But I'm not going to sit around and hope for something that probably won't happen. It's just asking for disappointment.

At this point, I think a lot of people on the fence have already sailed their ships. If they truly are holding on to things, they should had dropped them sooner. I remember going through comments somewhere else about the current updates and the social media backlash which made Doug give his speech about 'things are on the way!' He would not have given that announcement otherwise. It was a kneejerk reaction.

People commented on those articles and posts about how it was 'too little too late' for them. And it wasn't just a small pocket, the numbers were big and those who upvoted/liked/gave points to their comment were in the thousands. That's not a good image. That should be making them sweat about the future prospects of their next game. Not sitting on it because they made bank on an opportune time and took advantage of it.

But yeah I haven't really touched NH all that much this or last month. I only hopped on to do the event challenges and that was about it. Come to think of it, one of those days Redd was on and I bought some legit art and it's still in my mailbox lol. I've been getting into Stardew Valley. Just recently picked it up and I never realized it was like a harvest moon farm simulator. I like it. Reminds me of HM64 with HM-snes graphics.

Also hoping to pick up where I left off on Persona 5. I didn't get very far at all. Somewhere during the 2nd chapter about a renowned artist?

That can be done without an update as all the past events have. Each time you load the game, your switch connects to a Nintendo server to checks if the time has come. If no update comes before Halloween, your game will go to 1.11.1a signifying that Halloween has been unlocked. If we do get an update before Halloween, you should see 1.12.0a

I believe that there will be some sort of an update before the end of the year. I'm still hoping that the dock is an indication that they plan on adding tortimer island at some point in the future.

You're 100% right, however the way lots of people seem to be is that they'll buy any new game from any franchise they love. Just look at Pokemon Sword and Shield for example. The backlash online was intense, yet it still sold extremely well. In order for companies to give a crap is for there to be little to no sales. Otherwise why would they change when they can sell unfinished games for bank?

Edit: Despite what I said above, I'm definitely holding off on any new Animal Crossing game. They handled this one poorly and I haven't touched it in months with little desire to do so. On the bright side, I've been looking into other franchises so that's been fun!

@Corrie I think part of the problem with the new Pokemon was the fact that there were a lot of new fans joining or ones who had just came back after it moved back to system and not handheld. So they boosted the sales regardless of how well handled the previous games were. I wouldn't know because I don't really get into Pokemon. The last ones I had were on the gba lol.

I feel like that's sort of why NH did so well to. As well as parents buying games for their children. They don't really know about the game or look into it. But with NH, I've noticed that kids haven't been utilizing the game's new features as much as adults have been. The series has always been marketed as family/children, but it's clear this game and how complex the new features are were lost on a lot of kids. I know a few families around with kids who have this game and online where they barely touched the features, tried and gave up, and or bailed on the game early on. Heck if they even made it through the week tutorial. So to me the game has definitely shifted it's focus and demographic quite a bit.

So I'll definitely be holding off on any future AC titles myself. By myself I probably won't matter, but I hope they don't become as bad as Gamefreak.

Ah that's true! I forgot all about the new fans. Though in NH's case I can't exactly blame them since they probably didn't know past AC games and/or expect NH to be as barebones as it is. Though, neither did returning fans. I don't entirely blame Nintendo specifically for this but it seems like a lot of games have the "spit out now, update later" mentality which I'm not a fan of. If I had known NH was going to be unfinished, I would have held off.
